A lovely hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. The garden area was great for kids to run around and the bar area was rustic and very comfortable. We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant. We were lucky to have a very spacious room, which had to 2 bathrooms which seemed to be recently renovated. The rest of the room decor didn't match and was quite dated, but comfortable

Breakfast was ok, more selection would have been good. It was very basic. Only toast was available and the toaster was extremely slow. The tea and coffee selection in the room could be upgraded, and the same could be said for bathroom products. Again these felt very basic for four star.

The bedroom was large, comfortable and kept spotless by very efficient domestic staff. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Great entertainment at the weekend. And a good breakfast each morning setting us up for the day. The hotel is very close to Ballybofey town and the famous McElhenny's department store - it was a lovely touch by the hotel to give us discount shopping vouchers. And there is a beautiful walk along the riverside in the woods close by the hotel. Thanks for a lovely break - we enjoyed it immensely.

Dinner was fine, but not very adventurous. The specials were the same every night we were there and it would have been nice to have had more variety.

The location was very good, close to other places to explore such as Glenveagh National Park and Letterkenny. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and had plenty of choice. The room was very clean and comfortable.

We had hoped to use the leisure facilities and the swimming pool which was one of the main reasons for booking this particular hotel.However, there was children's swimming lessons taking place a good part of the day which meant we weren't able to fit in a swim around them unless we had an early or late swim which didn't suit us. The shower in the bathroom had a very weak flow coming out of it.

Breakfast was not included in our price, paid separately. Worked out at 60 euro for 2 adults and 3 small children, it was good breakfast but expensive for what it was! Hotel was nice pool and changing areas are in need of an update, food was tasty, but again expensive for run of the mill bar food. Got a few cockatails and they were also very expensive for a ready made frozen mix

Kids club was an empty room with toys- nice to have but should have been referred to as a play room rather than kids club

This hotel is ideally situated in the town and is a great base for travelling around the wonderfully sceanic Donegal. It had a lovely reception and bar areas. The room was clean and tidy with a lovely comfy bed and over the bath shower 🛀. They did a lovely breakfast and the staff are all very lovely. There is plenty of parking. They do have a pool which we were very excited about but unfortunately never got the chance to use it, so I can not comment on it, but its a reason to return.😊

The room needs some work, It had squeaky floorboards and needs some sort of sound proofing. Not a word of a lie... I was woke in the middle of the night and I taught there were people in our actual room because I could hear them talking so loud and clear.. Also could here the couple upstairs and the family under us. Not massive negatives, I would still return.

Stuff we're friendly and accommodating we forgot a purse and a phone on 2 different occasions and they were found and given back to us my son would go up to the stuff in the restaurant when ever he felt like orange drink and they would give it to him no problem the place was clean spotless

The TV in the rooms need an upgrade to smart TV it's easier to entertain the kids when in the room or have a movie night with family in the room

Had a nice view of the river from our room. Nice adult bar, although our youngest son couldn’t go in it. Reasonable food in the restaurant. Kids loved the pool.

Parking was sometimes difficult as limited. We did have some service issues in the restaurant but they gave us a discount to compensate. The menu stayed the same each day so we found it difficult to eat in the hotel for our entire stay. Breakfast was busy and there was sometimes a queue for the hot food. They didn’t have a lounge just a few sofas in the reception so there wasn’t really a cosy place to sit as a family apart from in the bar.

Every Member of Staff was friendly and helpful and had a smile, Needed to add a cot for Toddler and a Fan was requested by us and we had it sent up to our room within 10 minutes . The Pool was my daughters favorite part and the staff always made sure to give her a few pool toys to play with. We were contemplating adding an extra night when leaving but wasn't feasible.

The Room was a little uncomfortable for two adults and a toddler but that's not the hotels fault , Weather was very warm and this made the room uncomfortable, no fault of Hotel , Brought up multiple bottles of Cold water through out the night.

Jackson’s is a very good quality facility - Excellent bar with wide variety of food available - Very well priced. It is a spacious property evidenced by my room complete with arm chair and writing desk, wide passageways Excellent breakfast Very friendly staff Quiet sitting area separate from bar and restaurant Plenty of parking although does fill up quickly Really enjoyed my stay Highly recommended
