The staff were very hospitable and helpful they went 'the extra mile' and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast; our meals were tasty and the service excellent. We particularly appreciated the 12 noon checkout as it gave us time to do the Uckfield parkrun and return for an unhurried breakfast and a shower before checkout time. We would stay there again.

We have stayed here previously and have found it to offer very good value accommodation in a very expensive part of the world. The staff are friendly, there is a well stocked public bar and although we didn't dine here on this occasion we have done so in the past and it has been very good. It is not a 'big log fires, four poster bed and trendy cuisine' type of place but it is clean, friendly and good value for money. We travelled by car but it is only a short walk from Buxted Railway Station.

Not a lot. I think it has identified its sector of the market and does a good job catering to it. If you want more luxury then go elsewhere - and be prepared to pay around 50% more

We had a quite enjoyable 2 night stay here when visiting family in the area. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming .

Our main gripe was how incredibly hot our room was and that our window was locked shut ,so it couldn't be opened. The bathroom and shower cubicle was also lacking in shelves , so nowhere to put your soap / shampoo. I think the listing needs to be updated to state that there is no longer a restaurant there and the nearest place is at another pub , the White Hart, a fair walk away .

The inn is very nice. The service is good and friendly. The drinks in the bar are not expensive. The restaurant - on the days it works - is quite good. On the day the restaurant was closed there was a food truck near the inn.

We didn't like the breakfast pricing method. You pay for each item separately: main dish, juice, coffee, toasts with butter and jam. If you want a meal equivalent to the one you get in other hotels (which includes everything mentioned above in the price of the meal) it comes to a much higher price than what you pay in other hotels of this level. It's stingy and annoying. From conversations with other guests we realized that we are not the only ones who think so. On the second day we preferred to eat outside.

Bedroom and bathroom were without fault. Breakfast which was included in the price was good. Bar area and staff very nice.

Live music and Kareoke was taking place in the bar on the night I was staying, and the noise level in the bedroom was very similar to being in the bar, which made it impossible to go to sleep when I wanted. Even between 11pm and midnight music from sound system in bar could still be heard in the bedroom.

The place is well maintained and the rooms are clean. Staff is very friendly and everything can be arranged. The bar and restaurant are a joy and there are breakfast options aplenty. We really enjoyed our stay there and can recommend it wholeheartedly.

There is not much to say. If we were to be picky we could say that this is on the corner of a main street, but then again this place is so tiny, that this is not an issue at all. Windows are also very well insulated, so once closed you simply do not hear the street.

The staff were amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The room was bright and spacious. The shower might have been the best one I've used in a long time. We accidentally left my daughter's favourite soft toy behind and the staff called me up and sent it to me.

The breakfast could have been a bit better, but as this was an optional extra you could take it or leave it. The alarm system was very secure, but left me feeling a little on edge!

This is a great place to stay for exploring the surrounding countryside. I was greeted by a cheery face upon arrival who showed me to my spacious room. The bed was fabulous, the location is very quiet and gr8 for getting quality sleep. Fabulous bathroom with an amazing shower. Gr8 quality tea and coffee in the room. The food was amazing. I would not look anywhere else for future trips in this area,

We received a warm welcome, all the staff were friendly and very helpful, the food (dinner and breakfast) was fantastic and exceeded our expectations massively. The room was very nice, clean and functional with tea and coffee making facilities as well as biscuits, water and extra pillows provided.

The only thing to mention is that our room was quite hot and we didn't want to open the window as our room looked out onto the road, so we chose heat over noise!

The respect for customer needs shown through the availability of great teas and coffee, still and bottled water, cookies, tissues, not to mention heated towel racks, temperature and time settings for the quality shower, comfortable warm bed, general feeling of comfort, friendliness and a tasty reasonably priced menu!

Well, not their fault but there’s only one train an hour and if it doesn’t run you’re a bit stuck! Unless you drive, that is, as most people do of course! Or cycle in summer!
