For a small single room it was well equipped, comfy, warm and also had all the essentials. The location is great. Close enough to the city centre l, under a 10min walk, as well as shops and restaurants. But away from any real bussle and noise. Very safe area. I did struggle with the radiator initially but figured it out.

It would really be beneficial to have a staff presence. A great lodge but basically a self check-in and no engagement with anyone. The freestanding cupboard position was also slightly awkward. Built in shelving and a small hanging space would be a better option. The bathroom I had is also in need of a deeper clean. It's adequate but a good scrub would be beneficial.

This is now a staffless property which means you get two code numbers for the main door and the door to your room. The lock box outside of your room gives you an actual key for both the main entrance and both the room codes and keys worked perfectly fine. I will mention that on the room lock box, you will see a black square, that slides down to open the key compartment. Also, the codes you need come on the morning of your visit, mine turned up very early so that's something to watch out for. Free internet which worked great, limited TV channels. My room was tiny which I didn't mind as it was a great bargain. The bedding, shower, and room were all lovely and clean, there was a big built-in wardrobe so that was good to tuck everything away when space is an issue. My photo is showing the space down the side of the bed but in front of the wardrobe is a bigger area for you to leave things or get ready. As for its location, perfect. A lovely nice suburban street and yet close to the city center, train, and small Sainsbury's. I'd check on Google Maps to get an idea of how to get there but in the end very easy. More than happy to stay again and would recommend it to family and friends.

The mattress needs to be changed, it wasn't dirty just well-used, and had lost any support. A topper had been put on it which didn't help as it made it even softer added to that one side of the mattress was dipping as that was probably where a lot of people have sat so it was very uneven.

Amazing value for money. Situated in a pleasant location, approximately 15 - 20 mimute walk to town. The self check in and out was easy with clear instructions received in advance of my stay My single ensuite room was compact as I expected, but was well appointed for a comfortable night. The linen and towels were spotless. The shower was easy to operate amd the showet gel / shampoo provided was very refreshing.

The lack of clearance between the shower and the toilet. The light coloured iin room carpet was very badly marked. I would recommend you take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, as you will here the other guests during ypur stay.

Quiet street, didnt hear any noise at night, even though our room overlooked the street. 5-10mins walk from the walls. Room had a good tv which connected to the wifi. Bed was firm, window opened. Had tea and coffee which could be made in the room. Storage. A nice shower. Easy to find, easy to get the keys, easy check in and out.

Pillows, a little too thin for me. The black out curtain wasnt quite as long as the window and let a tiny bit of light in in the morning. Being super picky.

The room was lovely, bigger than we expected which was a nice surprise. The facilities were all that were necessary and the provided fan was a nice surpise given how hot it was. No trouble with other residents and it's proximity to the city was great if you don't mind a bit of walking

No complaints about the property itself, however noise from passing cars can get annoying at night if you can't sleep (mainly due to the speedbump right outside and the questionable following of speed limits). Also residents of the place next door rudely kept us awake at 2am one night, Though again that isn't really a slight on the hotel, rather the location.

Excellent location, 10 minute walk into the centre of York. The property is self check in on arrival so we didn't see any staff, one man opened the door when we struggled to and said hi. He seemed nice enough. The rooms are lovely and clean, with excellent comfy beds and lovely furniture.

We were in a ground floor room so quite noisy as people were returning and we could hear the guest above moving around. However, that is not the owners fault and unavoidable. I'd ask for an upstairs room if I was to stay again. The entrance could do with an update but the rooms are lovely.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, I struggle to sleep when away from home, not the issue here. Very quiet residential road, 20 minute walk to the centre. We enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city, and then the peacefulness of the room. The fan was a life saver on the first night too!! Would highly recommend.

The kettle could have been cordless. We improvised and used a bathroom beaker to fill it up :) Not a complaint by any means, just a suggestion.

This guest house is a brilliant base for a single traveller for an overnight work stay. 15 min walk to town, the single bed was really comfy and the en suite facilities were spot on. The room also has a ceiling fan and light. There are also tea and coffee making facilities which I wasn't expecting. Excellent value for money for a quick stay over.

Nothing specific, this is not a high end hotel, but a cosy guest house. The Facilities are not 5 star but you shouldn't expect these from accommodation of this sort

It was a self service check in but Mary greeted me with the key and assured me my parking permit was active. The room was well equipped and clean. Beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. The shower was nice and hot and there were loads of channel varieties on the TV

The heating was constantly on so the rooms got hot even when the radiators were off as the hallways were very hot. But this wasn't an issue, we just opened the window

We walked about 15/20 mins from the centre of town and used a keypad and code to let ourselves in at any time we liked. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. There was also another extra small bed in the room. It had an ensuite with soft towels and shower gel / shampoo included.

If you need parking or early check in / check out, or to leave your bags at the property before / after check in or out, it all costs extra which I thought was cheeky. Luckily for a 1 night stay we could get away with joy bringing bigger luggage.
