Just the quiet kind of week we needed as we begin our holiday in Tasmania. It was towards the end of the winter's cold with overcast days and drizzle and rain and sun on and off. The property is understated and down a lane that we missed the first time past. But we found it and wound down a one way lane to the rooms and reception and the river, fishing boats, a walking track and a view down to the ocean. The exterior of the accommodation is plain, but the staff were excellent and we settled in to our room easily. It had all that we needed for the week but was certainly a bit cramped for space and had just one easy chair and a chair up to a short bench. A queen bed, very comfortable, and single bed. There was a very pleasant lounge/dining room and the service was excellent, as was the food. We both loved the coffee and home made muffins, and the breakfast we enjoyed on the last day. The site is at one end of a 700m park and walking path, all situated below a regular street scape, 100m from the local pub and 400m from the main shopping precinct. The small coastal town held a lot of interest. We met many locals at the local Anglican Church and felt quite at home.

A bit cramped in the room. Trying to fill the hot-water jug was difficult at a tiny bathroom sink and the tap had a slow leak.

King size room. The location is great for access to riverside, coast walks and bike paths. E bikes available from reception on booking basis which meant being able to explore further whilst still getting good exercise and access to regional sightseeing and food (leaving the car parked at accommodation). The bed very comfortable and facilities clean with good quality personal items, soaps, linen, coffee pods. All staff were friendly and efficient informative and approachable.

A personal bugbear - small fridge stocked with wine and chocs that I boxed up and left in reception. I like to use fridge for my preferred food stuff. Reception had no problem with me doing so.

It’s close to everything. It’s right on the river, like metres from the water. There’s a pub over the road but there’s a great restaurant on site. The pub even delivers meals as well. The view is great. The beds are THE best. Excellent pillows ( extras in the wardrobe, but also a ‘ pillow menu’ so didn’t even worry that I’d left my favourite at home) The linen is crisp- very important. The toiletries are L’occitane for goodness sake. There’s a great variety in the mini/snacks bar. Complimentary bottled water on arrival and a generous packet of fresh and chewy Pascall mixed sweets on departure. We’ll be back because even tho it’s not the newest or most modern it’s obvious that the visitor is really valued.

The Waterfront is situated in a great location. It is literally on the waterfront. We used the venue as a base for further sightseeing. Wynyard is close to an array of tourist destinations: Penguin, Burnie, Table Cape, Stanley (The Nut). The motel is clean and suffiently well-equipped. The onsite restaurant makes a great breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Not much to dislike. Of really minor concern was the fact that the fridge did not have a freezer and, secondly, the washing machine and dryer needed coins to operate. These minor concerns had no real impact on our stay. I would recommend The Waterfront.

It was a very peaceful location. Felt relaxing being right at the water & fantastic walking area. Wonderful greeting on arrival and recomendations on where to eat ect. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of options. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. one minute walk to the local pub which had fantastic meals, a good atmosphere & wonderful staff.

Being the rooms are only separated by fairy thin walls you could hear some noise from other rooms. Luckily they were not noisy guests and it's to be expected in that style of accommodation.

Our stay was in winter and the room was cosy and warm on our arrival. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and advised us of what was happening in the area. The room was well maintained, clean and equipped with the usual tea and coffee making equipment, microwave and toaster,

The only thing I would add is that the parking has the potential to be slightly cramped, especially if visitors have extra large vehicles.

This is a pet friendly motel. The staff made us all welcome ,people, and our dogs. There were places for the dogs to be walked and a welcome snack for the dogs. The room had a great selection in the mini bar, and the prices were very reasonable. The rooms, coffee, and tea making also had Milo and hot chocolate, which is great when travelling with kids. The location was excellent with a very nice pub a few minutes walk that has really nice meals.i would recommend this place to anyone travelling with or without pets. A little checkout gift was so lovely.

Having my credit card details taken on arrival even though I had paid in full prior to arrival. I'm guessing it was because of the mini bar in the room. I was unaware at the time of booking that this was a requirement and it's not evident on the booking site as far as I am aware. I would have preferred they take the supplies out rather than scan my card as I am.not sure when they will delete my details.

Check in and out smooth and room clean. Only gripe is split system aircon is located above the wardrobe and as the top of the wardrobe has not been wiped it was blowing dust straight onto the main bed.

No dislikes with room but fish and chip place a few meters down the driveway was an absolute rip off. Over priced, long wait and left the coleslaw out of the package so had to go back and complain. $66 for 2 serves of fish and chips and another small chips and coleslaw?

Fabulous location overlooking the water & with lots of walking paths nearby. We had a very spacious & comfortable ensuite room - warm & well equipped for a short stay. Good size TV too. We loved it so much we’re staying an extra 2 nights. The guest lounge is available for breakfast & great coffee & muffins throughout the day. Plenty of books & magazines to read. Just a short walk into town for Woolies, cafes, hotels & restaurants! Great place to be based to explore the surrounding area.
