We have travelled to Austria many times and this is our second visit to Schladming in the last 5 years. We booked the Falkensteiner Hotel through Booking.Com and we thought the hotel was excellent. The bedrooms are comfortable, spacious with lots of storage space, clean with a lovely bathroom. We were half board and thought the restaurant food was excellent with very good choices each evening and the breakfast choices were also very good. The bar was managed by Igor with the assistance of Suzanna and you could not wish for two nicer people to look after you. The staff in the hotel reception were always there to help you and provide advice whenever they could. The staff in the restaurant were hard working and very kind to us during our stay. The hotel also has electric bikes available to hire and if you are a keen cyclist, it’s worth hiring the bikes to explore the wonderful mountains and countryside. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary whilst staying at the hotel and the hotel staff made our wedding anniversary a special day to cherish. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The hotel was exceptional! The rooms may be basic, but they are equipped with everything you need, clean, and very well-maintained. The staff was always friendly and ready to assist with anything. The spa was an amazing experience – of very high quality, spacious, clean, and relaxing. It was clear that the hotel paid attention to every small detail to ensure a perfect experience. It's worth noting that the spa is nude-only, which might be unfamiliar to some, but once you get over the initial hesitation, it’s an unforgettable experience. The breakfast was delicious and varied, and the staff was courteous and welcoming. An excellent experience all around – we’ll definitely be back!

the staff was very nice, the spa, the pool area is very well maintained, spacey and elegant. I loved the ambience of the spa, the sauna seance and the cleanliness. The breakfast has great selection, tasty food and full of healthy options, juices etc. At the lobbybar we had amazing wiener schnitzel, soup and kaiserschmarren.

The spa and pool area is fantastic, but the water was a bit cold for an outside pool. The spa and sauna staff was very kind and nice. I came with kids and since they not allowed at the sauna area it was difficult to enjoy it for myself. I had to leave my kids outside at the spa reception and rush back after. We found the dinner not as tasty as the other foods. We missed the hotels shuttle bus on the first day and on the second we should've wait 40 mins so it would be nice to have either more bus or have option to call. (because we called a taxi but a guy just took it) anyway it just a 10 mins walk, but when you are alone with two kids and with all the equipment it can be tough.

I've never seen such a clean and beautiful spa. It was truly stunning. Our second room, after the change, was gorgeous, with a beautiful view. The housekeeping gentleman was very accommodating and always adjusted to our needs — we have a toddler who naps after lunch, and he kindly rescheduled cleaning for us each time without issue. The food was fantastic, a real culinary experience! We would love to come back one day; we had a wonderful time.

Our room wasn’t very clean upon arrival. Later that evening, the previous occupants returned to the room, unaware of the change. This was quite uncomfortable, as the lady was shouting at us, asking where her belongings were. Restaurant service: We waited a long time for dinner before anyone noticed us, and there was a lot of confusion. Midway through our stay, however, there was a shift change, and the service became absolutely perfect. The young man making eggs at breakfast was extremely rude, but the older gentleman was just lovely!

It was our second time. The service of the hotel went beyond every expectation. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is charming. The room was comfortable, well-equipped, had a nice view from the balcony. The buffet breakfast had a great variety, and the 5 meal dinner was absolutely the finest dining experience, accompanied by a great service from the whole restaurant team. And last but not least the wellness, with a dedicated sauna area, sauna infusions offered 4 times a day, that is also a top quality. We were in the pre-season, but the price–performance ratio is absolutely great.

If only the Eastern European guest would also comply to the wellness and sauna rules, and respect the other with talking quietly or only outside of the sauna area.

A spacious double room, modern hotel and well located. Bus service to the ski lift was super helpful as was the boot room. The restaurant and bar staff were fantastic - lovely service throughout our stay and even gave us suggestions for things to try which was a really nice experience for us. Food choices excellent and well worth the money. Beautiful spa & pool area to relax in after skiing.

Not the hotels fault - I should have looked closer at the description of hotel as it is dog friendly. While I love dogs, I am not that comfortable staying with other people’s furry friends. The common carpeted areas had a lot of dog hair and we were woken a few times by a dog barking in a neighbouring room which was something we just hadn’t considered or were used to - worth considering this if, like us, you don’t have a dog.

Services, friendly helpful staff, good selection of food

Clearer signage on the spa area. I did not appreciate being frog marched out because I was wearing a swimming costume. It was very embarrassing as the sign does say there will be nudity, but it does NOT state that you have to be nude to use the area. Very poor

reception team is just amazing! even if I’ve had 2 issues, they were extremely helpful! the rooms are great, everything is nice and clean, the spa part is also very enjoyable

I paid the full price for the stay but when I went for the breakfast in the morning I was put a second category client because I stayed only one Day and they haven’t assigned any table for my name.they didn’t know where to place me and they didn’t want to give me the full service which was an absolutely unacceptable that I couldn’t even get a normal napkin from the table next to me. The other thing was that the spa part isn’t open up until 8 pm. it’s open until 7.30 as the team goes home at 8. they have it written on the door is that it’s open till 8 and because of that I lost some of my stuff that I’ve put in the relaxation part and they just cleaned it. I asked where is it but nobody could find it as they just threw it out. they haven’t given me anything in return.
