One of my absolute favorite homes on our weird and wonderful planet! They've found an awesome balance between preserving an historical building and providing modern comfort. I have a deep interest in the Knights Templar and I loved all the amazing Templar related framed pictures everywhere! Our room was fantastic but my favourite part of the building was the breakfast hall! Complete with original pillars and the breakfast table was in the shape of a huge cross! The walls were covered in Templar and other historical pictures and writing, very nicely done and not tacky at all. The breakfast buffet itself was fantastic even for a glutenfree vegan like myself! As soon as we mentioned we were vegans they went out of their way to accommodate us, very very impressed! The best hotel breakfast I've had in my whole life! All staff were so friendly and we could have spent all day every day having breakfast! They have a small library, a chapel and a pool, something for every one! The location is fantastic, just across the bridge from the centre but still in the old town of amazing Tomar! We absolutely loved our stay in Tomar and were very sad to leave one of the world's greatest hotels in one of the world's greatest cities!

Thanks to all the staff, I had an amazing stay for my birthday in Tomar at Vila Galé.The location is beautiful and conveniently in the historic centre of town. The facilities are good, swimming pool is perfect by the river and relaxing, the bar and restaurant are fantastic with warm and friendly staff. I will think on coming back to stsy at Vila Galé Tomar for relaxing city breaks in future. Thanks again to all staff that made my stay a wonderful experience, you were very kind.

My only suggestion will be to place another flower bed on the balcony (mine was the last one) so it covers the view of the car park. Other than that just keep doing what you are doing because you are doing a great job and I had a fantastic time.

The staff were very helpful and professional ensuring we had a great stay. The hotel is not only historic, but laid out very well with excellent places to rest, read or even work. The outdoor pool is in a very beautiful setting, but a little too cold for us! ☺️ The indoor pool and sauna were excellent and a great place to relax after a day of walking up to the castle and other sights. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with lots of options. One last thing, the staff made sure my wife had an excellent birthday. Thank you very much!

Our stay at Vila Gale Thomar was excellent. Right from the staff who helped with check-in to the staff during breakfast service, all were courteous, helpful, professional and very kind. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and adequately sound proofed. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of options, including a live omelette bar. our room had a great view of the outdoor pool, the water canal and the Templar castle. The property is close to the town square and park. We also got free parking close to the property though they do have parking at the property for 10 euros. We had a very enjoyable stay at Vila Gale Thomar and would highly recommend this boutique hotel to everyone.

The location of the hotel and the history of the building are incredible. The facilities, the attention to detail and the cleanliness are also amazing. One particular member of staff stood out, his name is Afonso and he went far and beyond our greatest expectations. He provided us with history of the area and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. He alone made our stay an absolutely amazing experience.

The location is fantastic and the hotel is beautiful. Overall the staff was friendly too. Check in and check out went smooth and I felt very welcome. The magnet at check out is a great touch and the emails received during my stay were perfect too. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was very diverse and delicious. Attentive staff in the breakfast rooms too.

The shower sometimes went from hot to very cold. When I turned the lights off at night, the charging of electric devices also stopped. Even with the card still in the socket. The outdoor pool area was too busy to use. There was no kettle in the room so I could not make tea before going to bed. I ordered a drink in the bar but that never arrived and after 10 minutes I left. The staff was more concerned about cleaning around me.

The Pool, the location and the friendly employees

No kettle in the room to make a cup of tea, you can ask for a coffeemaker at the reception. The lack of vegan options at the breakfastbuffet, for such a new hotel I expected more animalfriendly basics to be standard on the buffet like cold soya/almond Milk and yoghurt and some vegan sweet pastries and a vegan cheese or almond/peanutbutter. Wifi also difficult to get.

Location was excellent

It is a newly renovated hotel still smelled like paint in the hallway. No parking near the hotel. I didn’t care for the buffet they offered at the hotel both breakfast and dinner was in line for what the price value

I liked everything, pool, room with balcony, location, breakfast buffet with plethora of options, friendliness of the staff, rain shower in the bathroom. I highly recommend staying here!

Not the fault of the property, but there were too many families with small kids (cry babies) and that's not something I'm keen on, especially not during breakfast. Of course it's very personal and people with small kids might love this aspect... Depending when one arrives/leaves, check in and check out can incur some waiting around, which is not ideal.

It was a decent sized room with a comfortable bed and a balcony. Bathroom excellent. Make sure to make an appointment for the "spa" indoor heated pool with sauna, steam room, and a lovely ambience.

The building was on two different sides of the road with bridge adjoining, so it was fairly complicated getting to room with luggage. Parking was paid undercover (free parking nearby in public car park in the open).
