We liked the location, breakfasts, friendly and professional staff, and comfortable accommodation. It was easy to reach from the airport and main routes. The breakfasts were made with love every morning. All staff treated us as VIP's and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms were nice and spacious with crisp linen on comfortable beds. The rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, cutlery, crockery, glasses, a microwave and a bar fridge.

Friendly welcome Alida our host made us feel like family and went out of her way to drive us to a restaurant for dinner as soon as we arrived as we had no plans and had been travelling all day! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and fresh - and company of the other guests was fun!

The whole property is absolutely lovely, rooms are laid out in a way that makes them private and gives each guest their own space - there is also communal lounge space which is nice and very comfortable. please keep in mind that this property is not a modern hotel but more a comfortable family home/traditional style - but clean and welcoming

Great quiet and comfortable place in Summerstrand close to the beaches and some nice restaurants. Outstandingly friendly and hospitable owner Alida made us feel fully at home and did everything and beyond to give us excellent and detailed information not just for the PE area but also for our next stops on our way to Cape Town. Friendly staff member Alan was not just as welcoming and friendly, but also cooked us a delicious breakfast. This stay was the most personal experience we had during our round trip so far. Hospitality taken to the next level. A clear recommendation for anyone visiting PE.

Breakfast - included in the stay - was outstanding. In addition to fruits, yogurt, bread, etc. that we could take buffet-style the hosts made delicious breakfasts to order. Do not be confused by the "Boring" breakfast on the menu - yes, it says that - it is as yummy as all the rest. The rooms were charming amidst nice gardens and all I observed had a table and chairs outside, The really important thing is how our hosts went out of their way to help, whether it was rides to places we needed to go (including getting us to the airport on time the day we left), advice, or any of the thousand extra things they did.

Any issues we had were due to external factors over which Bayside Guesthouse has no control. Yet they did their best to ameliorate these - and were pretty good at it.

It's a great place to stay and close to the beach area with good restaurants and some shopping. We stayed only one night. It was a great stay for us, and the owner, Alida, made it even better with her hospitality. She even requested her son to take us to Addo Elephant Park at the last minute, and her son Greg made it happen. He also took us around PE and gave lots of information about PE. Overall, I give 10 out 10 for this stay.

Me & my husband travelled to Port Elizabeth for Iron Man South Africa & this is the best guest house we have ever stayed in. Alida was very welcoming and really took care of us. The breakfasts were amazing, the rooms cleaned regularly, lovely quiet pool area and Alida was very informative of the area, restaurants & tours available. Nothing was too much trouble, she even took me out shopping ! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely loved it

Alida and Mathias are the perfect guesthouse hosts. They are both so very warm and welcoming, making my colleague and I feel instantly at home. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the guesthouse location is not far from the beach...great for morning walks. The breakfast each day is "made with lots of love" and is delicious...including made-to-order items like French toast and the Big Mama omelet (my personal favorite). Thank you Alida and Mathias for all of the love and hospitality!

The property was really well cared for, and I truly appreciated how nice and clean the pool was. It made my stay feel so comfortable and enjoyable.

It's unfortunate that the rooms didn't have air conditioning, as that can make for a much more comfortable stay.

Property catered for all my needs, a mini kitchenette with in the room and a lot of space. The pool and braai area is very well kept and if you have any needs they are very accommodating.

My mother and I was travelling to Cape Town. The property and the location was absolutely great. It had that wonderful home-away from home kinda feeling. The host exceptional and very welcoming. She made sure our stay is top notch. The breakfast was absolutely great. I highly recommenf this establishment.
