Given the mixed reviews and some of the photos, we weren't sure beforehand what this hotel was going to be like, but it pleasantly surprised us - WE REALLY LIKED IT! Yes, it's a bit old, the outside looks unappealing, and parts of the inside do look a bit tatty, but it's got a surprising charm to it, and it provided us a great place to stay for a few nights, at a sensible price, with something different from a chain hotel. I have to give lots of praise for the lady on reception, who was BRILLIANT, very friendful and helpful to us with restaurant suggestions, and getting us some fans to help cool our rooms. The rooms are comfortable enough, the 'nautical' theme works surprisingly well, but they could do with better cleaning in the rooms and also the public areas, nothing too bad, just not as good as it probably should be. Breakfast is a simple buffet style - muesli, breads, meats, cheeses, cooked bacon and scrambled egg, and good coffee and juices. There was plenty of it and it tasted good. The breakfast room is a bit small for the size of hotel, so as others have commented I can imagine it would get full on a busy day, but we had no problems getting a table on both days of our stay. Motala itself is a charming town, it's lovely to walk along the canal between the lakes, there is a good selection of places to eat, and the motor museum (included with the hotel as they're owned by the same people) was a great place to spend an hour or so. With a good breakfast included, we thought this was an excellent value for money hotel, just don't expect a super modern hotel and go with its' charms!

Rooms were a bit hot but they provided fans which helped a lot. And the place generally could have been a bit cleaner.

The hotel was in a good location in the city center. The interior had an exciting ship theme. Our room was well cleaned. The wall surfaces in the interior also seemed new and clean. A funny detail: the toilet had two toilet seats. Hotel guests received free tickets to the motor museum

There were many dead ends in the city center. Google Maps could not direct you there. Finding a route there required many futile attempts. The hotel did not have its own parking lots. (It's worth downloading the EasyPark app for street-side parking.)

Simple hotel in the center of Motala, few steps from train station. Very polite and friendly staff, good breakfast.

Hotel needs a bit refrubrishment, bed was very week. But for short stay it was ok.

Really nice hotel! Lovely staff as well.

The walls were a bit thin, so needed to sleep with earplugs.

The hotel in general looks like it would need a renovation. The paint is worn out.. There was fluff in the ventilation outlets that haven't been cleaned in a long time and there was a spider in the room.

A museum visit included, the marine decorated style, comfortable

There were no parking places available near the hotel. You have to download an app to park in most general parking areas. I've never downloaded an app. It was stressful.

We had a small window looking on a park place, the high of road from the park place was nearly the window so you can not open the window in the night is not safety, the cars are parked on the other site of the window. We asked the reception it is a dog room. We had indeed a dog.
