Nice room, with a mountain view. Bed was large and comfortable with a great range of pillows .The weather was particularly warm and the bed quilt was a winter quilt .We had to request a fan in order to sleep .Nice bathroom and walk in shower with a separate bath. Toiletries were good Quality. On the first day we spoke to Ian Barkhill who was very helpful and gave us great advice as to the local area. Breakfast was really good with a good choice. We were served by Celyn Samuel for the three mornings . Celyn was really helpful friendly and went out of her way to make sure that we were happy .Thank you Celyn!! Hotel has a great location, close to Bodnant Gardens, with easy access to Conwy and Llandudno. The railway station is within walking distance from the Hotel. We felt that we had a personal experience. Thank you.
Room was very warm and bed quilt was to heavy for the summer . We had one meal in the restaurant which we found to be average.

Small, boutique restaurant/hotel. Relaxed, friendly staff. Lovely room with 'proper' tea/coffee making facility i.e real milk in the mini fridge, ground coffee for cafetiere. Great breakfast served to your table in the restaurant (pre-selected the night before for room guests only). Evening restaurant meal was good standard with generous portions. A very comfortable place to stay, perfect location for a North Wales visit.
Temperature control on shower a little tricky, tended to be hot or hotter otherwise nothing of consequence.

Very nice room with a really comfy bed. Bathroom was very modern and clean. Staff were very friendly, good base for lots of trips in the North of Wales.
Although staff were friendly, they seemed very distracted at times, forgetting requests etc.. felt a bit hit and miss at times. Breakfasts were very good, but same breakfast was different every day, just adding to the general sense of things being hit and miss. Given that the hotel is in the middle of the countryside with nothing around it, was disappointed when the bar was closed at 9.45pm on the Friday night because there were no locals there... wasn't expecting a late bar, but left us at a loose end very early in the evening with nothing to do.

The whole stay was very relaxing. All the staff we encountered during our stay get a big thumbs up. Their friendly approach was a major part of a very good experience. The whole place was nicely decorated in a very eclectic style which all appears to fit together somehow. Our room (Cadar) was nicely decorated and clean with a very comfortable bed and large Bathroom which had a large Shower Cubicle and Separate freestanding Bath. If I was being picky, the room would benefit from Air Conditioning, but it wasn't an issue for us even during the mini heatwave in September 23. The Breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked with a choice from the Breakfast Menu to suite all tastes (ordered the night before from a Menu Card). We ate in the restaurant area on the Friday evening and the food was great and reasonably priced and once again the Staff were brilliant. Well done The Tal-Y-Cafn Hotel!
The Beer was slightly expensive.

The hot tub, location, food, the room, facilities, staff were very friendly. Good price for what we got. Although it did say the room had a spa bath, it wasn't a spa bath, even tho all the soaps, salts ect were very nice
The room was very hot, even when the heating was turned off. When the room fans were turned on, a lot of dust flew out, very dirty. The glasses were dirty in the room and in the restaurant. It was very noisy in the room from the pub area, could hear everything. Breakfast was ordered and asked to have it in room but did not arrive. Was also charged for onion rings from the meal, but ordered garlic bread which didn't come with meal. Sofa bed wasn't very big or comfy.

The whole place was AMAZING!! Our room was the smallest out of the 3 but plenty big enough so I was surprised when I found out it was the smallest. The bath was beautiful!! I enjoyed a soak! The little touches were lovely too, fresh milk in the fridge, ManCave shower gels (we ordered some once we got home as they smelt amazing) proper filter coffee, sugar cubes, flavoured tea Netflix in the room! Although we didn’t bring a dog the room supplied dog bowls, some biscuits, and a dog bed story which was super cute!! We had good in the restaurant downstairs, it was lovely food and fabulous cocktails!! I highly recommend booking here!! One of the comfiest beds I’ve ever stayed on whilst away!

I was a bit sceptical on arrival, as the restaurant and bar below were extremely busy. However once we were shown to our room, we couldn’t hear any of the noise. The room was well equipped and beautiful decor. Plenty of games etc for a rainy stay and we also got a complimentary bottle of bubbly which was nice as it was our wedding anniversary. The hot tub was lovely to sit and relax in, watch the sun go down over the mountains. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant was also great and plenty of it. All in all we had a fabulous relaxing few days.
Just a couple of minor things. The hot tub is on a balcony with glass panels, overlooking the car park and outdoor seating area, so we didn’t use it until later in the evening when the restaurant and bar had quietened down. Some moveable privacy screening would have been perfect. There are also no steps into the hot tub. TV in the bedroom just wouldn’t work properly ( signal issues?) but we just watched the TV in living area. The positives far outweigh the negatives though and I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay.luckliy for us the suite with the hot tub cancelled so to the delight of our kids we paid upgrade price and they wer happy. In and out of the hot tub. The suite was stunning. Staff were all.wonderful. manager at door (sorry forgot name young man) very polite and couldn't of done more.for us. The decor was also gorgeous.
I hate saying anything but considering we paid ÂŁ148.for dinner and few drinks the night before plus the money we had paid for the room and upgrade at breakfast time I asked for 2 orange juice n.2 apple.juice (4 of us) . along with coffee for my husband and I, but was told only 1 drink per person.(always like orange and coffee when I'm away) Then myself and my son ordered pretzel bap with sausage bacon and egg bt it just was a plain bap which would of been grand if they had of said listen it's just a bap. So it's no biggies just little things, apart from these 2 small things we just adores staying there.

Tal-y-Cafn was ideal for us as a stopover to visit Bodnant Gardens but it would also be brilliant for a longer stay if you wanted to explore the wider area. Our room was very comfortable and cosy and large enough to be able to stay indoors and weather a stormy day or two. The dog welcome-pack of treats, a blanket and doggy story book made us smile (and a bit wistful - we lost our dog 2 years ago). The bathroom was spotlessly clean and quite luxurious. The staff and owners were all welcoming and friendly. All in all it was a treat to stay there and a pleasant change from the usual, more traditional Bed and Breakfast. The breakfast choices were different in a god way, too.
We had to fill in a sheet for our breakfast choices and were slightly confused by the wording: "only one item per guest".

The setting is breathtaking .. The rooms are so comfortable, and Mike, the owner, goes above and beyond to make the stay memorable . The added touches in the room from the doggy bed time story book and the items that make it a home from home experience .. It's our new go-to retreat in one of our favourite parts of Wales. . The food, especially the breakfast, was highly recommended .. although I do like my hashbrowns crispier. We will be back.
We had to go home !!
