I don't ask for much when visiting someplace, unless I am paying for the luxury. As long as it meets certain criteria I am really happy. 1. Clean - very 2. Comfortable space - yes 3. Comfortable bed - a bit firmer than I like but okay. 4. Good amenities - these were basic but in good supply. Air Conditioning was efficient, easy to use and locate. TV worked and was easy to do so. Good supply of teas and coffee if you were not fussy. 5. A nice clean bathroom - only issue would be lack of hooks to hang my clothes, but the bathroom was spacious and towels were fluffy and of excellent quality, as were the toiletries provided. BEST shower I have had in rental accommodation in a long time! 6. Close to food (downstairs bistro is great if you don't want to go further afield) and other amenities (a short walk to town if you do not have a car). 7. Friendly and helpful staff - excellent service from all staff and when reception is not manned the staff in the bistro next door are only too willing to help. I chose this place because it was close to where I needed to be for a special occasion, but loved the area and the staff were excellent. Would definitely use it again.

No lift which might make it difficult for those with mobility issues, although I understand there are ground level rooms available, but there was only one floor to go up and so not too onerous.

The staff are extremely helpful. Our plane was delayed due to airline changing flight times. The lady at reception arranged to have the room keys on outside key safe and text me the instructions on how to access it. When we arrived a kind staff member from the bar showed us where the safe was and helped us get in. The hotel bistro was very affordable and the quality and size of the meal excellent. We would happily stay here again.

Like all older hotels the decor was a little dated and there was some mould on the bathroom walls but for this price it is something one has to expect. It would not stop me from staying here again.

The location was great, the staff wonderful. Being able to park close, check in after 5pm and having the option to eat in the bistro on our arrival was fantastic. The room was pretty basic but functional for a home base for our stay. I wasn't expecting our beds to be made up each day but that was nice also. We had the option of reusing our towels if we wished or get new ones by putting them in the bath. Having a little fridge with a freezer box was helpful. .

The shower is over a bath tub which made it difficult for me with my bung knee. There are stairs to the rooms (no elevator) which also wasn't good on my knee. The room could fit 3 people (beds for three) but there was only chairs for 2 and the crockery and cutlery was only enough for two (if that). Also nowhere to wash up said crockery and cutlery except in the sink in the bathroom beside the toilet.

Easy access when coming from/ to the airport. Spacious room. Staff very friendly. Food offerings were amazing. A great range of pub style food with a good range and generous servings. The prices were also really low with many mains options as low as $20.00 and up to $30.00. Plus, if you are staying in house you get 15% discount off these prices. ( If you are a senior, even one from outside Australia, there are even more deals.) We stayed for two stays of 3 nights each and dined in all six nights, even though we initially didn't plan to.

There is still some refreshing needed in some of the rooms, but I would definitely stay there again.

We liked the location which was not very far from excellent cafes and restaurants. The restaurant catered good quality food. We ate there every night after our sightseeing tours. The restaurant staff were very courteous and helpful.

We missed not having breakfast. The staff had provided keys because the hotel doors closed at 9 pm however the key were in a lockup which was difficult to open because the numbers were very small and difficult to read. Fortunately there was someone available who opened the doors for us.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating; the manager, the bar staff and the cleaners all made us feel at ease and at home. We love the large room size and big bathroom, and since we requested extra towels on our previous stay a few days earlier, they remembered and gave us extra for this stay!

The mattress on the bed was fairly uncomfortable. It was an older spring mattress and was a bit saggy. The bed in our room for the first leg of our trip was a dream, so this was a downgrade. Hopefully they're in the process of replacing all the mattresses.

The bed was so comfortable, and I was not expecting that since the mattress in the property photo was visibly saggy. I would have accepted that since we paid a low price for the room but I loved the comfort. We did a lot of walking, and we are heavy people, so we needed the support of a comfy mattress at the end of each big day.

It would have been great to have some sheer curtains as well as the heavy curtains so we could leave the windows open during the day but retain privacy. Otherwise, perfect.

Location was good and room was fairly well cleaned and maintained. Services provided were also good. We checked in late and checked out early so hardly met with staff but it was well arranged with next door hotel & bar staff. who were very helpful and supportive. Enough car parking outside. In house restaurant with good menu, discount for hotel guests and room servile were all good stuff.

Absence of a microwave in the room was not helpful. Though enough parking was there, it was mostly taken up by restaurant patrons till late so hotel guests could park some meters away; when checking in and out in taking luggage, this is messy. Hairdryer was cut in half by electrical wire and removed. This was not welcome as initially we thought we might get suspected of stealing it, which was not there anyway.

We got a good deal on our king suite which was comfortable enough. The shower was hot and had good pressure. This was the only hotel in three weeks of travel in Tassie which had a non-slip mat. The discount voucher for the restaurant was a bonus and the meals were really good. The staff members were very helpful and pleasant. Parking was good and the location is good too.

A comfy chair or two would be nice. The dining chairs are not really a comfortable way to watch TV. There is no lift so be aware - apparently you need to request a ground floor room which is difficult if you're a first time visitor. There was only one bedside table which was a bit odd. These were minor issues and didn't detract from our general experience.
