Me friends and I received a warm welcome to Ashleigh House. Information regarding the facilities, breakfast and how to get in to town was provided and clear. I had a single room but had space to hang clothes and set items out, there was also plenty of plug sockets. The private bathroom was set out nicely. Bed was very comfy and warm bedding was provided and I even had a little mini kettle with a variety of teas and coffees to hand. All areas of the b&b were exceptionally clean. There were lots of options provided for breakfast including a variety of cereals, yogurts, pastries, fruit and hot breakfast options…which was really tasty. I would recommended a stay in Ashleigh House and would definitely book to stay again in the future.

A lovely property that is run by a very accommodating host. The breakfast was among the best I've ever experienced, the room nice and clean and very close to the town center. Had to do some work and the WiFi worked great.

The only thing I could complain about is something they can't really fix. To walk into town you have to either go quite a bit out of your way or hop across a quite unfriendly intersection. Not a big deal but the only negative I could think of.

Leanne is an excellent hostess. She is so friendly and is so obliging. The rooms are very clean with en suite facilities and have tea/coffee in the room. The single room I was in was big for a single with a big bathroom .The breakfast was superb with cereal, fruit, juice yoghurt, pastries and a variety of cheeses and then a full english breakfast which was huge. My sister left her house keys in the property after leaving. We only discovered this when we arrived home. We phoned Leanne about this and she offered to post them back to her free of charge. What a service. The property is only a short walk to the city centre. Parking is just around the corner of the accommodation. After check in Leanne will give you a parking permit. If i was in Carlisle again, i would have no hesitation in staying here again. Thank you Leanne for a lovely stay and a hearty perfectly cooked breakfast. The price we paid was excellent for the facilities.

A lovely property: very clean and comfortable - and close to the Theatre of Dreams that is Brunton Park, home of Carlisle United! It would be easy to give a maximum rating even without taking into account the kindness of proprietor Leanne. I asked if I could drop my bag off early on Saturday and she not only said yes, but had my room ready for me when I did. Also, I was doing the Carlisle 10k and I didn’t get back on the Sunday until after the 10 o’clock checkout time, but Leanne made me a pot of tea and provided me with fruit juice, cereal, yoghurt and pastries. It was really appreciated and made me feel welcome and valued as a guest. Thank you!

Excellent little hotel right in the centre of Carlisle. Friendly greeting on arrival, all important information provided, including recommendation on where to eat and drink, everything is 5 to 10 mins walk away. Parking available right outside the hotel, they will provide you with a permit. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, tea and coffee making in the room, shower was excellent, good water temperature and pressure, and kept spotlessly clean. We had a long drive back down south in the morning, so skipped the breakfast, but the breakfast room looked very nice. I would gladly stay here again, and certainly will next time I am in the area, or could use it as a stopover if driving further north. Highly recommended.

I'm being very picky here, but the mattress was quite soft, although I appreciate everyone will have different preferences. Having said that, I did sleep very well. Also found the lock to get back into the room quite fiddly.

The single room was big enough, with en-suite and comfortable including the bed. The location was great, right adjacent to city centre so within easy walking distance of attractions. Breakfast options were very good with cereals, pastries or choice of items for cooked breakfast. Lovely building too, Carlisle has many. On street parking is free with permit provided by Leanne, who is a friendly and helpful host.

Located on a busy road. Some of the noise could certainly be attributed to a patch of poor road surface. Maybe that's me being a bit picky, it is a city centre after all. It wouldn't stop me staying if I'm ever up that way again.

We stayed at Ashleigh House last night and it was my first time staying. The room was spacious, beds comfortable, and had all the amenities you need. The host was absolutely lovely and recommended places to try for our dinner (we went to coco mill which was great and everything is around 6/7 mins walk away). In the morning we had an absolutely amazing breakfast both continental and English with coffees and juices. I could not recommend this place enough it’s so nice and great value for money. The host, Leane was fantastic and ensured that all guests had excellent rooms. The room itself was spotlessly clean and attention to detail was second to none. The host had thought of everything for the guests' comfort from a welcome tea tray and biscuits to the comfortable bed, nothing had been overlooked! Although parking could be an issue for guests new to the area Ashleigh House provides a free parking permit so that guests can park just outside the property. Breakfast was superb with a limitless choice of pastries, cereals and a full English all freshly cooked. Ashleigh House offers 5 Star treatment to all guests and I shall certainly be back. Thank you!

This place was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast was spectacular and the location was great too. There was plenty of parking nearby although I did take a little time finding the right spot. The guesthouse provided parking permits overnight so that was very helpful. I loved that the place had original features and antiques but that there were personal touches like dragons alongside the Royal Doulton ladies in the china cabinet in the dining room. It was a really short walk into Carlisle town centre and the shops and castle etc. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful Carlisle was.

The rooms weren't perfectly soundproofed but they were still very comfortable and easy to sleep in.
