Lovely smart resort. Well maintained. Nice clientele. Convenient for the airport.

We keep trying to like the south coast of Barbados and The Crane is a lovely resort but it's in the wrong location for us. The beach is lovely and well kept. In fact everywhere is well kept but the sea is not the same sea as the platinum coast. Not turquoise. Not calm. It's the Atlantic and the churn of it brings a lot of seaweed. And though they were trying really hard with a digger to till the sand and remove the seaweed they couldn't clear it quick enough. And for the same money, even though this was a hotel with a kitchenette and plenty of facilities in house, we felt we'f prefer to spend the same money on an apartment on the west coast and walk to the nice restaurants along front instead.

First and foremost, this resort is absolutely stunning and very well-maintained. Our room was spacious, lovely, and came with a beautiful balcony view overlooking the garden. Everything from check-in to check-out was incredibly smooth. The staff were exceptional—every single person we encountered was helpful, polite, and greeted us with a smile. They truly made our stay special. The facilities are excellent, and all of the pools were fantastic. The beach, in my opinion, is one of the best in Barbados—private, calm, and absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed it compared to other beaches I visited on the island. As for dining, I tried the Italian restaurant, and the pasta was amazing! While the pizza didn’t quite hit the same mark, the pasta alone was worth it. A special shoutout to Richard, who went above and beyond. We were supposed to check out at 12, but my little baby wasn’t feeling well. Although reception initially refused a late checkout, Richard took it upon himself to resolve the issue. His care and dedication made all the difference, and I highly recommend the management acknowledge his outstanding service. In terms of location, the hotel is only 12 minutes away from the airport, which is convenient. However, it’s about half an hour away from Bridgetown and 20-30 minutes from the main tourist attractions, which can be a bit annoying. I highly advise renting a car to make getting around easier.

One piece of feedback: I travel quite a lot, and I was surprised that a resort of this caliber didn’t provide complimentary water or basic amenities like a toothbrush and shaving kits, which are usually standard. I’ve passed this along, but it’s a small point that I’m sure can be improved.

Everyone was incredibly friendly, the room was very spacious and in a great location. The pools being open late was fantastic. Food was also great and loved having the variety of options. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay - massive thank you to Tamisha who helped my boyfriend - now fiancé - organise the most beautiful proposal. We loved every second and will definitely be coming back.

Location is perfect for people that prefer not leaving the resort as it is quite far from lively St Laurence gap area. If you are the type to want to explore it might be worth staying at the resort for the few days of luxury then changing to a livelier location.

Large room . But had to move after 2 days since first room was dark with the wood closures. So inconvenient and had a 4 hour wait for this. Second room was nice and bright! Staff, for the most part were excellent and treated me very well.

Costs for a Canadian are high. Lift to beach broken. Some meals over priced and under valued for taste. Some staff looked unhappy to serve. Also, had to call for numerous things for the room.

The room was incredibly specious and the view was beautiful from the balcony. We stayed in a studio and enjoyed our welcome gift of wine from the resort. The staff is not only helpful but incredibly friendly.

This is nothing we they could have changed, but the beach was full of sea weed and we were not able to swim in the ocean. The resort had a free shuttle to a beach on the other side of the island and that beach is idyllic!

We prepared and ate breakfast in our rooms throughout our stay. There are various options available for lunch and dinner on the property. Our room was large and well appointed.

Overall food at the resort was expensive, for example a $9 US iced coffee at the cafe. I found the live music each night outside Bar 1887 a bit too loud to allow for conversation. It would have been nice if the room TVs allowed for streaming Netflix etc.

We particularly liked the room which was airy and spacious room, The included breakfast was all fresh and plentiful and we thought that having the food served to us was an excellent idea. We liked the variety of restaurants and enjoyed the beach and the spacious grounds. We found the availability and location of car parking to be very convenient. We were particularly impressed with Jonte, one of the waiters in Azure, who seemed to stand out with his engaging and personable manner with us.

Booking for the restaurant was necessary a couple of days in advance to ensure a table. The online booking for the Italian restaurant did not work and when we arrived for our reservation we were turned away.

The property is beautiful! There are several restaurants on site along with a café for quick drinks and sweet treats, and a small convenience store. There are also two gift shops and a jewelry store. The pools are lovely and you can’t beat some of the spectacular views. The beach area is not huge, but it is perfect with chairs and umbrellas ready for use.

The property is pretty far away from a lot of other attractions. If you don’t rent a car, though, there are plenty of taxis and transportation services to take you around the island.

Perfect in every way. Staff is friendly and helpful. Multiple dining options both on the property or nearby. Beautiful setting and excellent facilities.

Beautiful! Grounds were immaculate. Our accommodations were amazing.

Beautiful tropical landscaped property with lots of pools and beautiful cliffs overlooking the beach. Beach was so beautiful and easy to access from the cliff. Restaurants very good and easy to walk to. Great for families with young children. Our daughter had her baby with her and enjoyed the ease of having everything right there. Very relaxing with the waves crashing on the cliffs, too.

Not much entertainment going on there. Pools were pretty cold. It is isolated but has everything you need.
