I really loved my bungalow, it was cozy and comfortable. The room was small, but it had everything I needed. I was sleeping with the sound of waves, what was just wonderful. It has a nice porch with a small couch to relax on rainy days. Breakfast was delicious with many options. The meals were also delicious, but expensive for Zanzibar (but that is common in touristic hotels). And I just loved the location!!! Directly at the beach, everything on sand, i didn't wear my shoes for the whole time. There is a lot of space to hang around and relax, they have hammocks and couches and sunbeds.... I really liked that you have that space - unlike at other places where they build as much bungalows as possible to earn more money. I guess at high season it might be a bit busy but at low season it was absolutely quiet and wonderful. When I was there, swimming was fantastic with deep water, but thats depending on the tides, so it can also be bad there . I really recommend that place and would always come back.

I guess for a couple the room might be a bit small and they might not like that there is only a curtain to the bathroom. But for one person it is perfect and the other bungalows are bigger. They changed the prices on the drink menu while I was there without informing me. For me it was no big deal, but for heavy drinkers that could have been a bad surprise at the end :-).

Evergreen Bungalows is a magical paradise with love for the detail. The location and property is truly magnificent and exactly what you want if you’re looking to escape the busy crowds of stone town or nungwi. The staff is wonderful and kind, the restaurant great, and the pole pole island vibe lived to perfection. I would always come back!

Staying in Bungalows comes with the extra bit of wilderness and nature. You shouldn’t have a problem with animals and the mess they produce in the room, such as from mice. We named ours Alice and Satan. They are good mice, don’t be scared!

The location is wonderful, quiet and absolutely relaxing. The bungalow where we stayed did not have all the comforts like an hotel room, but we knew what we were doing when we booked here, we wanted to be immerse in the nature and that was exactly what we got, we even had the pleasure to see a little monkey on our balcony one day. All the people working at Evergreen are super polite and available, the way the treated us was unbelievable, it will be very hard to forget them. The beach in front of Evergreen is not crowded like Paje, and on top of that there are very few beach boys, one day we went in Paje and regretted it because we were stopped every 2 minutes by people trying to sell you something, so we decided to come back at Evergreen. Another crazy thing is the food, litterally everything was delicious, and we tried almost the entire menu during our stay. Also we cannot fail to mention Alawi, he will be your point of reference for every tour around the island, we did many tours thanks to him, and he was so sweet to give us gifts the day we left, so we really cannot forget him, and also Yusuf (our driver) which we fell in love with. This place really left something in our heart and in our memories. If we’d ever come back to Zanzibar this is the only place where we’d want to stay. A huge thank you goes also to Claudia and Mustafa, they did a wonderful job at Evergreen you can fell their love for this place, and on top of that they were very helpful. It is impossibile to not drop some tears the day you leave.

Evergreen Bungalows is the most beautiful place on earth. The upper floor beach front bungalows are like staying in a treehouse on the beach. The bed is huge and super comfortable. The balcony overlooking the beach has a daybed, table and a chair. You can walk straight on to the beach. Monkeys jump around in the trees directly outside the balcony. The food is amazing, and an incredible breakfast is included in the price. The beach, although wild and windy when we were there end July/beginning of August is stunning. Absolutely perfect!

There was nothing that I didn't like or would change!

Absolutely everything about this place exceeded our expectations! It's an absolute must-visit. We were particularly impressed by the owner's commitment to sustainability, evident in their refusal to use single-use plastics. Instead, they offer fresh water in glass bottles and provide stainless steel straws with each drink. The staff's kindness extends beyond humans, too - their furry friends, the dogs and cats, are clearly well-loved and cared for. Another thoughtful touch is the daily visit from staff around 6 pm to spray the room with bug repellent - a lovely added convenience. Overall, we can't recommend this place highly enough!

A heads up for fellow travelers: as is common in the area, the hotel occasionally experiences electrical outages. While as a South African are accustomed to load shedding, we recognize that others may not be. When outages occur, especially during dinner, we encourage you to exercise patience and understanding. Unfortunately, we witnessed some travelers being quite rude to the staff. Let's remember to treat the staff with kindness and respect, even in challenging situations.

I picked the location because it was near a diver centre so that I could go Scuba diving for half a day, and on the beach. I had no knowledge of Zanzibar or the bet places to stay. Evergreen Bungalows met my expectations. I requested a Kingsize bed and this was provided - we were upgraded for free. It was lovely to leave the room and be on the beach. The food is excellent - all meals.

The beach and the bungalow encouragement are gorgeous, offering wonderful relaxation. The room was spacious with a perfect view straight to the beach. The restaurant offers excellent cocktails and great food, all at affordable prices. I wholeheartedly recommend this week experience!

The water pressure in the shower is very low, and i much water accumulates in the bathroom, which takes very long to scrape away because of the floor shape. But neither of these things spoiled or wonderful stay!

The best location on the entire east coast of Zanzibar! An original, cosy and welcoming eco lodge /oasis perfectly integrated into the nature far away from the massive tourism but still with a great hotel restaurant and proximity to the top Zanzibar highlights like the rock restaurant, blue lagoon etc. We spent there few days to calm down and relax - an amazing place to get your cortisol level down. The owners Claudia and Mustafa as well es the entire team took care of us and made us feel like home. We would definitely recommend this place! Please do not forget to checkout the neighbor's restaurant Abdi's place as well.

Relaxed atmosphere, good value. We liked being directly on the beach with no concrete & no barriers. The pets - 2 dogs & several cats - are all really well cared for and extremely friendly. The live music - finished at 10pm so everyone can sleep - was excellent, and everyone was dancing, including the band. They have a chef who can really cook and the cocktail menu was creative, and the happy hour popular with the guests. Fine white sand quiet beach with turquoise clear water! Highly recommended. We would have ideally stayed for longer than 2 nights

The accommodation was really amazing! My friend and I enjoyed staying at the bungalow although it was just for one night. The people are all super kind and loving and they did everything in their powers to help us when we lost my friend‘s phone. The view was beautiful and we were able to go to the blue lagoons using bicycles (5$ pp for a whole day). The food was absolutely amazing too and we recommend this place for sure! And we also watched the sunrise in the morning.

During night it was quite hot in the room but the fan helped to cool us down a bit.
