Overall a wonderful place and I'd definitely both recommend and stay again. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The common area was lovely - the little touches like fruit, cakes, coffee etc were very appreciated. It's a beautiful place - warm and comfortable and generally quiet. The room was nice and the bathroom fantastic - as were towels and linens.

I was a little disappointed since I'd booked specifically with the understanding there was a balcony - it was in the room description. Not only was there no balcony the small widow was on an inner courtyard with little light. For comfort - I'd suggest adding mattress pads - it was fine but would be nicer.

A very responsive and informative staff, including luggage stowage if necessary. Breakfast included many traditional options as well as local foods and was wonderful. The lounge was comfortable and quiet, so even though our room was small (but very reasonably priced for central Lisbon), we really only needed it for sleep. All of central Lisbon can be easily discovered by foot, or the metro if you are not a walker. I loved the 252 stairs from Rossio Metro to Barrio Alto with luggage and all (even though I’m 71), but head to the incline if you want to avoid aerobic exercise.

Considering the price and convenient, authentic location - all was good. If you don’t want to experience life in Lisbon like the locals, you probably should save your money and stay home.

We enjoyed staying at Casa das Janelas. The property is located in a very trendy areas of Lisbon close to many restaurants and nightclubs, but is quiet and comfortable. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The ground floor common area is an excellent amenity for relaxing and socializing and the snacks and beverages that are available are a nice and unique feature. The breakfast is ample and delicious. We would stay again!

The stairs are a bit of a challenge if you have luggage.

Very nice staff, I loved the complimentary cake and tea in the lobby, room with the view was lovely. My room was professionally cleaned daily. I am very picky with the mattress and pillow, and the bed was great and really comfortable.

I understand it is an older building, but there were ants in my room and you can hear everything from the other surrounding rooms. I had to wait until late at night for everything to get quiet to fall asleep and then wake up early because people would start waking up, use the toilet, and showers.

This was our second stay (first time was pre-pandemic)and next time we're in LIsbon this is definitely where we'll stay. This small, well situated hotel is on a quiet street, has comfortable beds and air-conditioning that actually cools the room (unlike many large hotels who appear to have a placebo thermostat in the wall and poor quality air in the room). The breakfast is amazing and the lounge/breakfast area is charming, comfortable and welcoming. I travel extensively and this may be my favourite small hotel world wide. It's not "fancy" and I love the clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

Friendly and relaxed vibe in this 'home from home' hotel. Excellent location but in a quiet street close to loads of great restaurants and a short walk from Rossio station. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast and really comfortable beds. And we really liked that we could make hot drinks in the communal area late in the evening.

Nothing really. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. On first sight we thought the road the hotel is on was a little underwhelming, but the location is in fact excellent.

Hotel has a very cozy vibe. Communal area was lovely--free coffee/tea/snacks and a great space to read a book, have a drink, or relax outside of your room. The room itself is a bit snug (though we knew that when we booked). Bathroom was quite large, great shower, water temperature--all great! Location was very convenient to restaurants, public transportation (located in a hilly area, but enjoyed the walk!). Would absolutely stay again.

The staff was incredible and made our stay. They were so accommodating, full of recommendations, and had great energy. I had done lots of research, and the hotel met expectations. The location was perfect, on a quiet street but so convenient. It was beautifully designed, the showers were great, there were good breakfasts each day, and it felt like home.

It was wonderful. I had the chance to experience different rooms, and there are only a few small things to share: There are quite a few stairs to get to the top floors, so if needed, try and book a room on the first floor. The smallest rooms are cozy in comparison to the others. In some of the rooms, you can hear a little noise from neighbours.

Great overall experience. The room was clean, the downstairs lobby/kitchen area was very cute, and the staff were attentive and kind.

However, the breakfast — which ended up being 15 euros pp — was not included in the booking which was not clear when we booked. The breakfast itself was delicious. Finally, the room was smaller than we expected, with barely any walking space, but there was more than enough space to hang out downstairs.

This place was super cute, clean in an awesome neighborhood and the staff couldn't have been friendlier.

The only issue I had, and it wasn't really an issue because the staff held my suitcase downstairs for me, was that we stayed on the 3rd floor and there were tons of steps. My suitcase was big and I didn't want to lug it all the way up there since I was only staying one night. But they held it for me in the office and I was able to grab it no problem for my super early flight.
