The location was great. Easy walking distance to sights in the old city. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot. We liked having a kitchen to cook in.

It's an old building so a bit warn. The public areas could be cleaner. There is was a lot of noise out on the street at night. Local people just hanging out with loud music.

Don't get the bad reviews about this place. Room, bathrooms and kitchen all super clean - there is also a great AC'd chill area by the kitchen. Wasn't expecting it to be so nice for the price. Room is really airy as there's so many windows and everyone has their own fan. Obviously not very private as 14 beds in 1 room but imo nicer than bunk beds. Only 2 bathrooms/showers in the room but there are also other bathrooms downstairs if needed. We were super happy with our stay here, it's a great base for a couple of days

Tbh this exceeded our expectations for what we expected to be like a hospital ward (it lowkey still was but really clean and comfortable so can't complain for the price and location)

Very convenient location in the old town. Many cafes and restaurants nearby. Very close to fish market Mercado De Marisco and to Cinta Costera. Beautiful building, high walls and ceilings, everything looks expensive and pleasant. Everywhere clean, lots of showers. I slept in the common room for 6 people. It was comfortable. Bed is clean, air conditioning works. There are lockers in the room. The kitchen is very large, many people work there, have all the facilities to cook for yourself. You can eat with a beautiful view of the balcony.

location was great! it was definitely clean. the room was on the top floor so it had a great view The common area was interesting with a nice communal kitchen as well as a good sorting system for the different guests

thei top floor was great with a view but it's also on the 4th floor (American - 3rd European) without an elevator so if you have problems with stairs or you're tired after a long day of sightseeing or you're just lazy it's gonna suck also the cleaning supplies they used were heavy on the chemicals we had to leave the doors and windows open for a day and a half because when we first got there we were coughing

Location and price. Very nice sitting and conversation room that was large and comfortable and even has verandas right next to the kitchen. Most importantly it was air conditioned when my dorm room (#16) was the only dorm room that is not.

I did not understand when I booked it that dorm room # 16 is not air conditioned while all the other dorm rooms are. I could not transfer because there was no availability in the air conditioned dorm rooms. At least however, they did provide individual fans that you could point right at your head. So that helped :-)

Absolutely loved our stay. It’s a little pricier than most places but it was worth it. Central location amongst great restaurants, attractions and shops. Clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms. A spacious common lounge area to work/hang in (or chill while waiting for your room to be ready). Friendly staff - they offered us the ability to use their towels & showers after we checked out so we can freshen up for our flight! The hotel also offers a tip-based walking tour in the mornings - we attended it and it was awesome! Highly recommend.

Nothing - it was excellent!

The Casco Viejo area is a good place to stay, however, the noise level from the people living in the nearby streets can become a little loud in the evening, when shouting seems to be the main form of communication for a few hours! The inn is a short walk from the ocean, with views out to the modern city skyline. A ten minute Uber or taxi ride will have you in the Marbella district with its high-rise buildings, shopping and more upscale nightlife. Magnolia Inn has character, with stone flooring, pattern plaster ceiling moulding and quaint little alcoves in some of the dormitories. The bunk beds are substantial, with good mattresses. When activated by the staff -at certain hours, the aircon is adequate (if staying in the dorm for the day, they will activate on request). There was a ceiling fan in my 4-bed dorm, but no way to activate it separately from the five overly bright lights that come on at the same time. The ability to use just the fan at night was only possible by me clambering up to loosen the bulbs in their sockets!!. This should be addressed by the management, especially as it would save on electricity to not nee the Aircon, and each bed has its own wall light by which to see. The overhead is not a necessity. There are comfortable and attractive resting areas, with a communal kitchen stocked with some basics for making tea and coffee. The toilets and showers are great, with hot water, and in very good condition. The reception area has aicon, not the hallways, stairwells or communal resting areas, but floor fans are available for additional cooling.

There needs to be more clarity on the room amenities. My room details didn't mention that Aircon is turned on and off by staff, even when I was unwell and bedbound for two days, a staff member came in, didn't ask me, but turned off the Aircon. It was reinstated upon request at the reception desk. It makes sense not to cool an empty room, but when it's occupied..ask first. This is a very efficient hostel, if not particularly a warm and friendly place.

Great location in a beautiful historic building. The shared rooms and bathroom/shower facilities were very clean and I really liked the common area and kitchen as well. Staff was super helpful, especially Adrian! He made me feel like I was staying at a high end hotel and was super helpful with recommendations and connecting me with tours.

Magnolia Inn is a beautiful Boutique Hotel/Hostel that exceeded all our expectations from the common area, to the amenities, and the staff! If you arrive early before check in, there is an lovely common area elegantly decorated for you to relax in and escape the heat. Not only is the wifi great, but there are 2 cute outdoor balconies, filtered fresh water, nice comfy couches and tables, all in a well air conditioned room! There is a simple kitchen with everything you need well organized to make a homey meal at any time. We booked a private room and we were delighted to see a huge bed, more lovely decor, a small sofa, large TV, air conditioner, ceiling fan, dehumidifier, tea, coffee, towels, shampoo and a nice shower ready for us. The bed was huge and so very comfy. We both slept amazingly! Don't leave your wet clothes on the ledge! I made that mistake and our clothes blew over to the roof next door. Luckily, the amazing staff gave us their contact and was able to get our clothes back when we returned to the city after our trip to Bocas. They really are friendly, kind, helpful, and care for their guests.
