The manager was great, very helpful and cheerful. The room was very clean and gave us everything we needed for our one night stay. We made our breakfast in the morning and appreciated having a real table and chairs to eat at. The location was great. We walked into town to pick up a few groceries and check out menus for dinner, later walked again to have dinner down the street at Alice May’s. If you have the time, highly recommend the documentary “Westland Wonders” shown hourly at the Alpine Center. Well done and informative.

The couch was a little small for two. Would have appreciated a larger couch or a comfortable chair.

Everything was comfortable and we definitely enjoyed our stay. Nice motel with designated parking at your front door. The room has an efficient layout. It's nice there is an elevated place by the front sliding doors to sit to put on shoes or have an elevated place for luggage. There are two curtains, sheer to let in light but gives privacy and a dark curtain that blocks out light. There is a cooking area is nice to have. There is a mini fridge with a small freezer. There is a Expresso coffee machine. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub. It was the right size for me but small for my husband who is 2 m tall. I enjoyed soaking in it after doing a day of ice climbing. The location is great since it's off the main road and was quiet. Everything in the town is walkable.

This Motel was so clean and tidy that we thought it was brand new. We did not realise it had been open since 2014 so maybe it had just been refurbished. There was nothing not to like with nice little touches like a Nespresso machine for our breakfast coffee and new pods replaced every day. We were only there for a week and we think the linen was replaced regularly as well. It would be one of the better places we have stayed at in the last decade or so. It was easy to find and we walked into the main centre for dinner each night regardless of the rain.

Aspen Court Franz Joseph is located close to all that Franz Joseph village has to offer and yet was quiet and well equipped (even had a spa bath) and was very comfortable. The management was very friendly and helpful to us on several occasions during our stay. The kitchenette in our unit while compact worked for us and it was an added advantage to have access to a barbecue and laundry facilities on site.

I have stayed at Aspen Court once previously. Because I was impressed on the previous stay I automatically booked this motel again. Aspen Court sets a standard for the industry in New Zealand in every possible way. Our unit was warm and spotless on arrival. Our room was generously sized and very well appointed. Beds were super comfortable and cosy and there was a generous supply of extra bedding if required. The kitchen was very adequately supplied with utensils (we cooked our evening meal!) and the bathroom a treat.

First time staying in a motel. Did not quite know what to expect. Turned out to be a great experience at Aspen Court: great location, squeaky clean, super comfy, coffee provided was great! Also quite enjoyed the daily servicing of the room. 😃 Special thanks to the ladies who kept the place so immaculate! There is also a guest laundry (you need 2x2$ coins for a load), but very very convenient after a week of hiking on the West Coast 🧺 🧦 👖 🧥

The counter staff was friendly. We had one apartment and a studio, both were spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location was excellent - good eating places (e.g, Alice May) and local points of interest (e.g. Terrace Walk to watch Glow Worm after dark) are within walking distances. It is an easy drive to the Franz Josef glacier area. The jacuzzi in the apartment was great for both adults to relax and kids to have fun. The whole neighborhood environment was nice and quite for pleasant leisure walks around. We highly recommend this place for visitors to Franz Josef.

Very well designed room to make traveling with bags easier, and well equipped kitchenette. Comfortable big room.. Good location close to walks, restaurants, and the supermarket.

Reception area was empty and appeared to be locked up. I rang the bell and no one answered. I had to call on the phone to reach someone who then told me that the door was open and that the bell did not work.

Property is of top quality, everything is of good quality and fine taste. Every detail was considered to boost the comfort considering the environment and typical weather. Radiator heater and floor warming are good samples of resources available that enhances the guest thermal comfort. The room we hired had also a good size bathtub with massage, again of good quality. Location is not bad as it is at walking distance from restaurants, cafes and the supermarket. In summary we were very positively surprised by the size and quality of the installations. Highly recommended!

Aspen Court was in a convenient location for the centre of town (restaurants and bars are easily walkable). The accommodation was clean, and very warm (even without the heater being on). Pam was always helpful and great fun. We would highly recommend Aspen Court and would stay there again.
