"Thats a River Lap Wing!" pointed Sita Ram " Thats an Indian Black Hooded Oriele....!" Sita Ram has an encyclopedic knowledge about wildlife in Chitwan. "There is a wild male Rhino and there is a Gharial "a very endangered crocodilian)...." he observed and showed us. We are novices and he turned me into an Ornithologist. Now I am always looking through my binoculars and trying to identify different bird species. I have not met someone so knowledgeable about the local wildlife as Sita Ram. The Hotel is in exactly the correct spot to observe wildlife and avian culture.

Good location and next to the river with a nice view. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. It is possible to book tours, safariâs and bustickets at the reception. The staff arranged a car to drop us off at the busstation for free, which we really appreciated since it was very early in the morning. Special thanks to Sitaram, who is a great restaurantmanager! He showed us the animals on the riverside and made sure we didnât miss a thing! We stayed in the tent, which can get very hot during the day, but the private terrace in front of the tent makes up for it! Would definately recommed staying here!
If I have to name one thing: It is not possible to lock the tent

Fantastic location. We had an amazing view from the balcony outside our room (2nd floor) but you can get the same view sitting next to the river at breakfast- saw elephants and wild Rhino and crocodile and loads of birds from here. Large room that was clean and had the hottest shower I had in all our time in Nepal. We arranged our full day safari through the hotel - we opted to have a guide and jeep (with driver) to ourselves (4 of us). It was a great day with a really experienced guide and we just walked down the river a bit, got in a boat to cross the river & the safari started. Saw a tiger! The staff at this hotel were super friendly and welcoming and provided a packed lunch for our safari too.
Fan in our room was dodgy and loud however we had an air conditioner so used that instead.

The location is amazing! Right on the river, so make sure to get a room with a balcony overlooking and it's a great relaxation spot. It's only a 5-10 minute walk from the main street where all the restaurants are, so quiet, but convenient. The room and bathroom were a good size. Occasionally, I had trouble getting hot water, but I think it was a morning timing issue, because other times it was great. The beds were okay, but definitely not the best. The bottom sheet didn't cover the bottom of the mattress and once I noticed, I felt like I couldn't straighten my legs or I would touch the mattress. All of the staff were pleasant, but the man that runs the restaurant is an absolute gem. He makes a good breakfast, but is also happy to chat about all the animals on the river. He would always greet us as we were returning to our room and even checked to make sure we had enough toilet paper (this was the only hotel in Nepal where we actually did have enough). This place is an incredible value and I highly recommend it.

This place is in a perfect location for a short walk to the main street street where all the bars, restaraunts and shops are, as well as right by the river which makes for lovely scenery when in the onsite restaraunt and if you just want to stroll down and enjoy some peace and beauty! The room was clean and had everything you may need, it also wasnât too small which was great as it meant we had some space. There was working AC that also operated as a heater. The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful, and the restaraunt manager Sitaram was definitely worth staying at this hotel for alone, he is so lovely and great to talk with. Each morning he would look out for rhinos crossing the river and be sure to tell us so we could go and look, he helped spot a crocodile too when we first arrived and just always set out to make our time as comfortable as possible! The hotel buffet breakfast run by Sitaram is brilliant and great value for money, thereâs loads of choices and Sitaram and his team will make hot drinks fresh for you! Lastly, what is amazing is they provide free transport between the hotel and tourist bus stop! This is great as means you donât have to worry about bargaining for a tuk tuk and can get in a comfy van and be there right away! Definitely recommend this hotel for a serene and easy going time in Chitwan!
The only issue we encountered was that the hot water was often hit and miss, which was difficult after a long day in the national park we really wanted a nice hot shower.

The staff went above and beyond. We've never experienced such friendliness and hospitality. They helped with everything, and everything was so easy as a result!! Helped us book our safari and the manager even personally drove us to the airport at 6.30am. Room was beautiful and clean with a gorgeous balcony.
Toilet had a bit of a funny smell but the bathroom was pretty good compared to a lot of other experiences in Nepal. No absorptive bathmat made showering a bit inconvenient (slippery floor when wet!) The fan made a grinding noise that made it hard to sleep. The restaurant food was pretty average and we found a maggot in the butter at the breakfast buffet. Reported this to the waiter and he just changed the knife and left the butter where it was.

The best part of this hotel was the amazing conversations with Sitaram, the waiter at the restaurant and a great friend who will always hold a place in our hearts. He was so attentive and we learned so much from him about the area and his expert topics: birds and football! An amazing person, thank you for everything. We also have to highlight the breakfast here was incredible, especially with the views of the Rapti River! The best breakfast we had in Nepal and so filling as well. But not just breakfast, we had dinner at the restaurant which once again was amazing, definitely recommend the chicken fried rice :) Overall the staff and one of the owners are all amazing and the free pick up and drop off from the bus station in a tuc tuc made it even more special. They even welcomed us with a cold lemonade! Check our YouTube video about this hotel and don't forget to follow/ subscribe to @carmaadventures on YouTube and Instagram. There was a big gap under the front door which meant we had some unwanted visitors in our room, we spent a while trying to get a lizard outside. There was also a big wasp nest at the back of the stairs on our floor so we could hear the massive wasps flying outside of our room and one of them came inside, but Sitaram helped us!

Primo Location: Best place to be for sunrise and sunset this hotel/restaurant is in the prime position just before the bend in river for extra river viewpoints and Marshy area, dry area where animals like to come out to drink or bath. Rhinos frequent the area and if you stay here. Locals bring their elephants down to drink every evening. As you can no longer stay in the national park the hotels along the river are the closest you can get with the park just on the other side. 5-10 min walk to the town for nice rooftop bars and tourist shops and only a 5 minute walk to the boat launch. Stay here and you can listen to nature sounds in the night and wake up close to natureâŚIt sounds like this place books out in the busy season so even if you canât get a room, itâs worth coming for a meal or sunset/rise beer: Restaurant: breakfast included and is very generous. In the offseason they deliver a plate to you (see picture) but in busy season there is a buffet. Rootop option too! Best chilli momos I have had in Nepal. There are western options too and the staff will help to point out every bird or wild animal you see. They packed us - delicious lunch for our full day tour: Service: Enjoyable, friendly, and helpful. Free pickup and drop off from the bus station. Free breakfast. We made our own way by bus to the accom then Ended up booking everything through them, including the bus back - which was 10x more enjoyable as they helped us pick a good one where the bus actually had shocks! We didnât love the package tourist options selling out of Kathmandu and messaged the hotel to get prices. They created our customized itinerary- allowing us to skip the elephant breeding center, have lunch in the National park after our walking tour - and it ended up only costing us around $30USD more than the crowded all-inclusive tours and we a private on-suite and a full day private safari, free breakfast, and option to eat dinner wherever we wanted in town.
The interior bedrooms are too basic to be considered 5 star but you get what you pay for. I also wished the menu had more local/nepal food to try but the Nepalese food they had was good!

Pros: 1. The staff was amazing. They guided us about traveling, booked our bus tickets and safari, and even picked and dropped us off at the bus station. They were always smiling and helpful. 2. The room was spacious and clean. All toiletries were provided. 3. Breakfast was tasty with different options on different days. 4. The Hotel is just beside the Rapti ever. The view was amazing. There was a sitting area of this hotel where we sat in the evening. 5. I paid everything by card. It saved my cash.
Cons: 1. It took almost 5 to 10 minutes to get hot water at water taps. This problem is everywhere in Nepal Since they use solar for hitting water. But this is very irritating because it is not practical for anyone to turn on a faucet and wait for 10 minutes before washing his face. 2. Since the room's floor also gets cold, they were supposed to provide disposable slippers. It was missing .
