We had the most wonderful experience at Riad Azzar! The location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of Marrakech yet easy to navigate, because the staff were there to meet us from where our taxi dropped us off. It was such a peaceful oasis to come back to after exploring the vibrant medina. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always there when we needed anything. One of the highlights was how they went out of their way to prepare an early takeaway breakfast for our train journey to Tangier — such a thoughtful touch that we truly appreciated. On top of that, they kindly offered to store our large suitcase so we could travel light with just hand luggage for a few days. That made such a difference! Breakfast at the riad was superb every morning — fresh, delicious, and beautifully served in a serene setting. It was the perfect start to each day. We loved our stay so much that we’re actually coming back in just five days! Thank you to everyone at Riad Azzar for making us feel so welcome — the fantastic location was just the icing on the cake.

We loved the staff- they were so friendly, warm and accommodating, would defiantly recommend this to friends or family. The location was very good, safe and close to the main square. The manager and the kitchen staff were super nice and made us feel at home!

The Riad was “based on trust” so there are no locks on the room when you go out (you can lock from inside at night which was good). As two female travellers we would’ve preferred to lock our room when we went out.

A true oasis of calm in the middle of the medina madness! When you walk through the door, the noise levels drop entirely and Asma has managed to create a beautiful peaceful courtyard that you just have to spend time in. The staff are amazing, nothing was too much trouble - Hicham and Ayoub did a great job. The comms with Asma were great via What’s App too. And as for breakfast….just wow! Beautifully presented, different every day and served on the gorgeous roof terrace - an absolute treat to start your day and fuel you for whatever you have planned. We will be recommending Riad Azzar to anyone who’ll listen 🤩

Nothing, it really was wonderful (though if you had mobility issues, you may find the staircases a little difficult). The prices in the Riad are in Euros (the only place we found doing that in Marrakech). We tried to exchange some dirhams to euros in the main square but kept being told it was only possible at the airport, so make sure you take plenty with you (though the Riad will accept other currencies, at their own exchange rate).

Located in the heart of the Medina, near the main square, the Riad Azzar is a little oasis. Quiet, with the sound of bird song, is the perfect place to return to after dealing with all the huddle and bustle of Marrakesh. The staff cannot be faulted, friendly and attentive, who go out of their way to assist guests with anything they need, Isham was particularly helpful :) A fantastic breakfast is provided which is the perfect way to start your day. Asma was extremely helpful in arranging taxi transfers from the airport as well as booking us a souk guide, Omar, who was excellent and well worth doing. She also arranged for our boarding passes to be printed as you cannot use your phone at the airport - 5 stars!

No bottled water in the room (it’s easy to buy locally but would have been handy to have)

Staying here exceeded our expectations. The rooms and property were comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everyone that worked there was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop was beautifully presented and delicious, a perfect place to start the day. The pool was fun to take a dip in. The location made it easy to walk and shop and also rest during the day. It was wonderful to have air conditioning, and it was very sweet and helpful to have the owner personally help with booking our travel to and from the airport. It was also very helpful to have the staff personally escort us to and from the airport rides. It was a wonderful trip.

One thing to be aware of: it's a long walk from the place a car drops you off or picks you up, to the hotel. It's fine if you are young and able, however this was a little tough on my mom, so we hired a tuktuk a few times or she would stop and rest and then continue on.

All of our arrangements made with Asma worked out perfectly in terms of collection and transfer from the airport. We wanted to experience a traditional Riad in the centre of the Medina and Riad Azzar was the perfect choice for us. The staff at the Riad are absolutely fantastic and nothing was ever a problem for them especially Samir. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful on the lovely rooftop terrace. The Riad is a beautiful old building behind the most inconspicuous of traditional doors down a quiet alleyway. We felt very safe and comfortable here. We also used the services of their recommended local walking guide (Omar) who was a lovely and very knowledgeable gentleman indeed. It was well worth doing this in order to get your bearings in what can sometimes feel like a maze.

Lovely Riad with friendly staff. An oasis of calm but in the middle of the medina, among the souks. easy to pop in and out when you want a break from the city. Nice plunge pool in central courtyard and design is simple and not overstated. breakfast is traditional Moroccan food plus yoghurt and a pastry. Very nice. Staff friendly and helpful.

You have to go down a dark, covered back alley to get there. First time felt a bit sketchy, but after being there a bit realised this is pretty standard for a riad in the medina and the young men hanging around on motorbikes were actually very friendly and polite.

We absolutely loved our stay at the riad! The location was perfect – central yet peaceful, especially at night and when relaxing on the rooftop terrace. The character of the riad was extraordinary, from the beautifully designed rooms and bathrooms to the charming terrace. The staff were exceptional, always going above and beyond to make sure we knew the best places to visit and happily arranging taxis and restaurant bookings for us. Breakfast exceeded our expectations – it was delicious, with a new cake each day, freshly squeezed orange juice, and full of flavor. The traditional tea and sweets offered as a welcome were a lovely touch. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Don’t hesitate to book Riad Azzar. It is the staff team at Riad Azzar is what distinguishes this riad from the rest. Excellent service for anything you need - for ex. late night request for silverware so I could eat my take away dessert while watching a movie and relaxing. You are greeted every time you enter and exit the road so that you don’t have to search out someone to assist with any requests that you may have. Riad Azzar arranged for a seamless stay for us from start to finish from the prearranged transportation to and from airport to the beautiful daily breakfast on the rooftop, included in the booking rate. Room was immaculate having cleaning service everyday with fresh bed linens and bathroom towels/ mat. The hair dryer was powerful. Bathroom towels huge and robes were thick and cozy. The bathroom was cavernous with ample sink counter space. Don’t sleep on the locally made body moisturizing balm supplied in the bathroom. Loved getting ready with so much space in the bathroom. Front entry way is separated from the room allowing for a small wardrobe changing and luggage storage area to help keep the main room uncluttered. I really wanted to try the fireplace but we ended up being out and about exploring all day and fell into the comfy and spacious bed every night. The private tour of the three valleys is an absolute MUST DO. A private driver brings you to the Eureka Valley, which is approximately 45 minutes outside of the city center. It was the most beautiful experience driving the winding roads of the Atlas Mountains where the Berber people (so kind and welcoming) reside. We had unmatched views of the mountains and clusters of communities from a Berber family home where you have a lunch (made by the locals but you sit only with your own co travelers or can see with other visitors if you choose). It was the most beautiful day and we were so thankful to experience it with our chill and easy going private tour guide Khalid.

If I have to give any notes, the shower head can be bigger.

Riad Azzar is beautiful designed throughout, with a blend of elegant, modern furniture & characterful pieces. The paintwork is immaculate & the rooms & the entire building are cleaned thoroughly every day. It's close to the main square but very quiet and peaceful & it's wonderful to relax by the plunge pool with a mint tea & Moroccan pastries when you need a break from the souk. The staff are delightful & always there to help. The beds are comfy & there is an abundance of soft towels, robes etc. Kettles in the rooms were a welcome surprise. Breakfast is served upstairs on the roof terrace, as the morning sun warms up & is a substantial meal - Moroccan style. Happily the coffee is good! I booked the room with a private terrace & would highly recommend it as it's a perfect spot for coffee in the sun, or for drinks at the end of the day. I would recommend booking the Riad's airport pick-up service, as you have to walk the last 10 mins & would be unlikely to find the entrance on your own.
