An amazing place to stay in Essaouira, Meryem and the staff made sure we were comfortable at every possible option. The room was beautiful and spacious, very comfortable and a nice cool temperature at all times. The wifi was great too for relaxing in the evenings with some freshly made moroccan tea! The terrace was a lovely sun trap for the days when the beach was a bit too windy as well. The breakfast was great and Meryem and the kitchen staff were able to cater for us as we were vegan which was a massive bonus! The baghrir pancakes, bread, fruit and jam were all vegan and this was perfect with tea/coffee - you can get extras as well from the menu. The location was great, you were in the middle of the old town souk and only 10minutes walk from the beach. There is 24hr staff and good security, and overall Essaouira seemed very safe.

We stayed for 5 nights and there were noises at night in the nearby street - people talking in the alley, dogs barking etc. Some shops stay open until just past 11pm. I know there is nothing the Riad can do about this, you will need earplugs if you stay here but thats the same across most of Marrakesh etc.

Well decorated and spacious room, central location and lovely staff

The room, especially bathroom was incredibly dark. Having a mirror in the bedroom would have been great as that's where the light was! Also, the area where you have breakfast is very dark - extra lights and possibly some quiet music would be nice there to provide some atmosphere. Shame it's not on the roof terrace. Also, I've stayed in many riad's with a more varied breakfast (including eggs and yoghurt). This one was more expensive but had to pay for any extras. Has to ask for our room to be cleaned, and was only done so once in 4 days - perhaps leave some information as to what is / isn't cleaned, also some information in other languages would have been useful

Riad Amana is perfectly located to discover Essaouira! It's in the middle of the Medina. Once you are inside the hotel, it's very quiet and relaxing. Our room was big and nicely decorated. The shower was great - warm water and good water pressure! We liked the fact that it is a small Riad with only few rooms.

In our opinion, the mattresses are a bit too hard. And in the bathroom you can smell the sewerage. But you can close the bathroom door so that the smell doesn't enter into the bedroom. I expected an open terrace with a view over Essaouira, but the roof terrace has high walls so that you cannot look over it (maybe it can be deduced from the pictures and I didn't notice it in advance).

A beautiful stay at a lovely riad. The rooms are enormous, I truly could have fit my family inside comfortably. Extra linens if you need them, and clean by in the Medina standards! you will experience a bit of humidity and street noise if your window faces the street, but I slept very well here during my stay. Also note you will have the sewage smell from the Medina plumbing - I combat with some essential oils in the toilet and keep the lid closed. This is standard if you stay anywhere in the Medina. Located in a lovely area with many things to discover and close to very good restaurants

It’s a quaint riad in the heart of the medina. The rooms are so chic and lovely and so so clean. The location couldn’t be better. You have everything in walking distance. It’s quiet and peaceful. The WiFi works fabulously. But more than all of this it’s the people that make the place. Meryem, Saeed and Amina are the soul of the place. They make you feel so at home. Every need of yours is met. Everything they can arrange for you they will. Every request catered too if it’s possible with them. I was a solo traveller from India that went for the Gnaoua festival and I was lucky to find a last minute reservation here. No matter the wee hours of the morning I came back gentle Saeed was there to open the doors and check if you needed anything. Sweetest Amina in the morning prepared breakfast and got your laundry organised and cleaned the rooms. Meryem the most adorable efficient yet so so warm ran the place with so much joy ! I felt so at home there and truly showered with a lot of love. I wish I had more time to spend there but I was out most of the times. Go here not just for a place to stay but to experience the true nature of the Eassouiaran hospitality. I will definitely be back there.

Nothing I disliked

Miriam, Said and the other lady (sorry we didn’t ask her name 😭) were the loveliest hosts and made sure we had everything we needed throughout. They were quiet and just let us get on with whatever we needed but also were there to help us as soon as we asked, we felt really at home. The room was really lovely, and had everything we needed, it was a bit noisy at times but we were expected that being in a busy location. We enjoyed hanging out on the terrace as well. Breakfast was great, and we really enjoyed sitting at the table with others and chatting to them, it was one of the highlights. They also let us have breakfast early on the last night as we had to get a flight which we really appreciated I can’t recommend enough, a perfect stay ❤️

The bedrooms were large and on suite and mine had a dressing room. Lovely decoration , great colour scheme blue and white and room was red. The terrace was a nice space to relax. The Staff were very friendly , helpful and lovely.

Would have like choice of fruit and yogurt for breakfast instead of all bread and pancakes. We did have fruit but had to pay extra supplement. The light in my dressing room didn't work. These were both minor issues.

Very nice Riad in good Location in Essaouira; They also had a nice terrace to sit and relax. We enjoyed a very good breakfast every morning. Staff was also very nice and helpful. Also the arrangement for transfer from Marrakech to Essaouira by Riad team was perfect.

Light in bathroom could be a bit lighter and beds were a bit too hard for us - at least we would prefer that; but taste is always different.

Very clean riad- beautiful smell as soon as you walk through the door. Very peaceful atmosphere even though it was right in the heart of the medina. Staff were lovely, breakfast was good and there is lovely roof terrace to relax on.

Nothing really! It can be a little hard to find but once you know your way about it’s fine!
