Great stay, I was able to upgrade to a first-class space and it was worth the money. The staff was amazing. They allowed me to store my bag before check-in. They also held my bags after I checked in because I was going to Osaka later that day. I did retrieve my bags before 3 pm. The hotel was close to a bus stop, supermarket, and Nijo-jo Castle. The hotel offered light snacks, tea, coffee, and other small amenities as well. About 20 minutes by bus to get to the bamboo forest.
The hotel was a bit far from the main attractions like Gion district, Nishiki Market, and the temples. No subway service nearby but a bus service was present but sometimes a short delay. Beds were a bit hard. But other than that nothing really to not like.

This is my first experience in travelling in Japan. All of the common areas, restrooms, onsen, showers, capsule areas were kept spotless clean. Everything was nice, neat and quiet. Towels were changed every day, bed linen every 3rd day The best was to soak in the onsen after seeing the sights for the whole day. The coin laundry was a huge plus. Extra pillows, blankets, adapter to mobile charger was offered. The coffee was really good, yakult & snacks, too. I spent 9 nights at the FirstCabin Kyoto Nijojo-mae.
I have only two issues that are mostly matters of taste: to me the bed was really hard (I sleep on a futon at home which is hard, too, but nothing compared to this 😊). Second: the AC was extremely noisy, but I was offered to change my capsule location at the reception 👍🏻 of course, earplugs helped, too.

I loved all the comforts that were provided. Free shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, moisturiser, pyjamas, slippers, washing machine, coffee, tea, yakult, snacks, comfy sitting area with magazines and books as well as origami paper. There was luggage storage and multiple bathrooms so that I never had to wait to use a shower or toilet. The onsen was beautiful and relaxing with a window looking out on to an enclosed garden. The WiFi was fast and reliable.
The mattress was incredibly hard. I couldn't turn off the air con completely in my pod and at night I was often freezing. The one night it wasn't freezing it was roasting so there were some clear temperature control problems. The coffee machine frequently would need attention to work. I would always feel guilty asking staff to sort it so often went without.

Futuristic haha the amenities are very clean and new. The first-class cabins are amazing and the space is great. Free Yakult lol. Washroom and showers super clean and modern.
Location is not that good, not that many restaurants around. Check out time too early (10am). It's sad that tattooed people cant access the spa :(

Not the most ideal in terms of location. It's about another 8 to 10 mins walk from either Nijojo-mae Station or Marutamachi Station. There are buses from Kyoto Station to nearby bus stop where certain buses also continues to Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji and Koimizudera. Nijo Castle is less than 5 minutes away on foot. There is a supermarket and Mos Burger opposite the property. Mini marts are a few minutes walk away. Staff is friendly and efficient. Clean cabin is of decent size and shielded by a curtain with strong magnet at one end. There is only a round table in the cabin and 3 hangers. Pretty big drawer with lock is under the bed. Wifi connection is good. Cabin level has toilet and vanity sink facilities. For shower, one has to go to the communal bath on the ground level. The communal bath (termed Men's Spa) is very decent. Shower stalls, toilet, vanity sink, washing machine and onsen bath are all located in the communal bath. I believe the ladies has a similar set up. Lounge area is decent in size. In the middle of the lounge is a huge tatami island with a table in the center. Several seats and a sofa accompanied by small round coffee tables surround the tatami island. There are free snacks. Yakult, tea and coffee are provided. One can also replenish drinking water. Microwave is available for use. Lounge area is best for mingling.
1. Lounge area lacks proper table for meals. 2. One has to always have the access card on the body once leaving the cabin area. Even going to the toilet on the cabin level. 3. No shower stalls in the toilet on the cabin level. 4. Cabin only shielded by sliding curtain with magnet at one end.

I loved this place, super spacious rooms and good amenities. Public bath was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely nice! I had to give some of the ladies some press butter sand cookies for their hard work and good service. They also have free snacks and green tea&coffee which is definitely a plus! I'll definitely be staying here again in the future
I loved everything about the hotel, no worries when it comes to that. I wasn't a fan of some of the people staying there. A lot of people act like they're still at home and really have poor manners. Other than that I loved it here.

It was a very nice cabin hotel. The staff was helpfull and I appreciated the free slippers, pyjamas and snacks in the common lounge. I appreciated quite a big locker in the room, where even a laptop can fit. The location is also very nice, it is convenient that there is a big supermarket right across the street and it is in a walkable distance from the city center.
The room was one night very cold and one night quite warm. If I understood it correctly, every room has a switch to choose the prefered temperature but the actual warm/cold air goes out from a went on the hallway. There are more vents so it is possible that one is blowing cold air and the other one warm and then it mixes the air together so it ends up being inefficient.

Room: stayed in the First Class cabin. Very spacious and comfortable. Other guests were very respectable and quiet at night. Amenities: has everything you need -- pjs, facial cleanser/lotion, toothbrush, hair brush, etc. They will provide new towels everyday. Common area had free snacks and green tea. Staff: very friendly and professional. Location: a bit further out from the main touristy attractions, but if you're looking for a quiet area, First Cabin is ideal. There's a huge supermarket and Family Mart across the street and a small fried chicken shop next door. Transportation: couple buses from Kyoto Station will drop you off pretty much in front of the hostel. Even though it is further out, there are plenty of buses that will take you to where you need to be. Nearest subway is about a 10 min walk.

Overall the rooms are quite comfortable however I would not recommend booking the basic capsules as it gets very noisy and you do not have enough space to sit up. I booked a business class capsule and it had just enough space for me to be comfortable in the capsule, I would recommend it as a minimum booking business class but if you can afford paying the 5-10 dollars extra then get first class as the extra space will feel a lot better. It is likewise quite at the first class cabins as they are separated from the area where standard and business class are located.
It is a bit far from the city center. The beds are hard.

The property was extremely good, a pool, a great common area with snacks and drinks, the beds felt more like rooms
So one thing that I thought was quite sneaky was the ‘Kyoto city tax’ I feel that should just simply be included in the price because honestly I wouldn’t have booked if so as my £20 something booking ended up costing £40 something, just felt very sneaky, I know it does say like the further charges thing But it’s just very sneaky, also another thing was the showers, I literally don’t know if I’m right but I think the only showers were two on the bottom floor which was interesting.
