Located within easy walking distance of the magnificent Kenrokuen garden, Ishiura Shrine, Kanazawa Castle park, the Nagamachi samurai & merchant house district, modern department stores, and various restaurants. Friendly host, Mr. S, told us he is the 4th generation running this ryokan. He kindly let us store our luggage there after checkout and before our next train. The spacious bath facilities included 4 showers and a large, deep tub of hot water. The lobby restrooms were sparkling clean & convenient. Free coffee in the lobby in the mornings was a special surprise!
The traditional miniature-sized bath towels might surprise Westerners used to bath sheets. For some reason, when booking online, I was only able to select up to a max of 3 travelers, so had to explain to the host we were actually a party of 4, and paid an additional fee at check-in.

Excellent location and very cozy room. The ryokan is tucked away on a quiet street that is within easy walking distance of Kanazawa Castle Park, Oyama Shrine, Kenroku-en garden, and the Nagamichi District. It's a really beautiful neighborhood to walk around. The family that runs this place is super nice, and the place itself felt very cozy and homey. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer.
The only thing that wasn't spectacular was the wifi (but that may have been specific to our room).

This was our favourite accommodation in Japan! We loved being in a traditional Ryokan and the area had plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants close by. The staff were really friendly, free coffee was supplied in the morning, and the facilities were great. Don't be put on by the shared toilets and bathroom. They are of exceptional standard and the onsen is used privately and an incredible experience.
Nothing, we loved it!

It's not a fancy place but it's very cute and homely. The decor is a bit daggy but it's all immaculately cared for - feels like my grandma's house. I asked for breakfast on my first morning and it was all prepared beautifully. You've got to wait to use the room with the showers & bath in it but it wasn't a problem for me.

The property is very traditional, so you can really get the full experience of a Japanese ryokan. I slept in a futon, took baths in a traditional setting, ate Japanese breakfast. Overall it was a very relaxing experience. The owners are very friendly and speak good English.
Nothing, I really liked everything.

Location is great. Lots of shops, stores, restaurants nearby. Most everything is walkable from here. Host is 4th generation for this ryokan and he is very informative. We mentioned that we like coffee in the mornings, and next morning there was coffee for guests instead of the usual tea. Family is very accommodating.

Location was perfect for the places we wanted to go to and plenty of bars and restaurants. Very quiet and comfy.our landlord was lovely. We loved our stay and will stay again when next in Kanazawa.
Maybe a kettle i n the room. We are Australians and enjoy our morning tea or coffee but such a small thing it doesn’t really matter.

Authentic Ryokan with a terrific little onsen.
We were initially concerned about shared toilet and bathroom. But our concerns were misplaced. it was all set out very well, worked very well and ended up being part of the whole ryokan experience.

The breakfast they had was very good but there was no vegetarian option (but that is common in japan)

Absolutely loved staying here. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and even helped carry luggage up the stairs. I would absolutely stay there again.
I loved everything.
