The hotel is beautiful, we could not believe this is only 3 stars. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was nice. We stayed in the suite, which comprised 2 rooms with double beds, and a shared bathroom. This setup worked well for the 4 us (parents plus 5yo and 8yo). The AC was a godsend given the blistering August heat. All in all, a lovely hotel, we recommend it for families with young kids.

The suite led directly into the breakfast room such through a set of stairs and the door and a sliding door at the end. This resulted in some puzzled looks from the other guests when we showed up for breakfast the first morning. We didn't mind too much but perhaps it could be off putting to more reserved people. Also, Sala Baganza has little to offer in terms of things to do with kids as young as ours and it felt hard at times trying to find places to visit which were suitable for kids in the August heat.

Location is the best , right in the historic center of the town. Next to a magnificent castle and park . Great breakfast! Parking could be a little bit of an issue , but honestly there is a big public parking lot area at a walking distance (5-10min) from the hotel . Besides being a nice short workout , it is also allow to explore the surroundings. I also loved the deco of the hotel . Super friendly and nice stuff .

Parking in front of the property can be an issue since it is a public square . Due to the high ceiling it may take a little bit longer to warm the room.

It is a totally modern hotel in a castle built during the 15th century. Everything works. Checking in and out were a breeze. Breakfast is a large variety of meats cheeses croissants are crispy and freshly made. Although it’s located in a small town there’s a supermarket a short distance away. Our room had a rowing machine. One other room we saw had a treadmill. The castle itself is closed on Mondays

We were very happy with room no. 111 overlooking a beautiful garden, and featuring very modern furniture. The entire hotel is newly renovated and very clean. Also there is an elevator, which was useful for our luggage. The sleep quality was very good (excellent bed and pillows, very quiet area, the blinds from the windows allowed complete darkness). The breakfast area was rather small / narrow, but the continental breakfast was good and the hotel staff were preparing cappuccino and coffee for us on demand. The hotel staff are very helpful and super responsive in Whatsapp. The Wi-Fi is good and the Parking is for free over the night. We found a nice restaurant nearby - Osteria "da Fiore" - where we ate wonderful dinners and tasted some local wines, and daytime we visited several Italian cities nearby to see the famous "1000 Miglia" race cars - the location of this hotel was perfect for such activity.

Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Lots of nice art and chill out music playing very quietly in the halls. Something I would not expect from 3* hotel. There is nice park outside with playground for kids plus there is game room in the hotel.

Room had no wine glasses or any cups just small espresso ones. With wine museum and bars downstairs it would have been nice to see two wine glasses in the room in case someone would want to enjoy some wine later. Breakfast selection was ok but there were no vegetables at all. Rather then brie cheese for breakfast it would have been nice to see mozzarella and some tomato slices. Friendly stuff but over the weekend the receptionist struggled with basic English. Thanks for google translate.

Lovely stay in a quaint Italian town. Room was a bit warm, but cooled down with the windows open. We had pizza from the small restaurant down the street and ate it in the park, lovely! Breakfast was good and staff there were attentive and friendly to our kids. Kids loved the playroom.

Parking situation was a bit confusing. The police were checking the next morning, which made us a bit nervous nut apparently we'd done it right.

Great place in a very charming town. Beautiful rooms, comfy beds, great shower, delicious breakfast. We booked the snow-white suite for my 4 year old (who absolutely LOVED it and also enjoyed the relaxation room :) and regular double room. Both were great! Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort stay around Parma.

Pool is not close to hotel. It's 10 min walk, it is a fee to pay. So it is misleading by hotel and Booking that thay say this hotel has a pool. No there is no pool within the hotel.

Our room was huge, the matrimonial bed was very wide. I liked it that the room had a small hall (in which we had a bicycle 😊) and the bathroom was sufficiently far from the sleeping bedroom. I liked it that we had a coffee machine and coffee capsules in the room, that we had toiletries, clean set of towels, bidet, and i appreciated that there was a stool in the toilet (very few accomodation places worldwide see the necessity of a stool/small cabinet in the bathroom). There is a fancy fridge in the room and there was also am electric socket extender, which i appreciated because we could charge more phones at the same time. The location is gorgeous, right in the middle of the village, and within a historical site. The breakfast was good enough, a variety of cheeses, after all we are in the Parma region 😊. I liked that we had a free parking and that we could check in at any hour. The staff in the breakfast room were very kind. The hotel had a mark of less than 9 when i booked,so i had lower expectations, but for me it was a very good experience and i cannot find much faults to it.

I appreciated that the breakfast included also salty foodss (ham, cheese, eggs), not just croissants, and the only thing that i would add would be some fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers).

Great hotel the room very modern and clean. i wss able to park in the garage which is abouy 300 meters away . there is a restaurant 5 mins away and a sushi bar 15 mins walk . other places were closed due to italian holidays or permanemtly. the staff were very helpful i locked myself out of my room but was straight away.
