I needed to get away from my work for a while as we will be getting busy soon. It was very nice to sleep in a normal bed and have a nice room all to myself. I relaxed hooked up my videogame systems and used faster wifi to update and download all the things I couldn’t for months. I have to detox from the shipboard environment especially when I’m on it 24/7 almost the whole year! So I appreciate the little getaway in Gaeta and I’ll be back. Some things that could be a bit betterr are the TV’s and how they are. It was a bit of a challenge to hook up my game systems to the TV because of the angle it was hung on the wall but I eventually got it. Also I was surprised that there was no air conditioning here only a heater but since it’s cold outside and not like the tropics where I come from it’s okay. Just open the window and you’ll be fine. If you want to update and download you can’t leave the room because the power will go off. The massage was great and the staff was very friendly and professional. The housekeeping staff was nice as I wanted 2 waters and the brought it to me very fast. I wish I could have stayed longer but duty calls. Next time hopefully I can stay more days and nights at Hotel Gajeta. It’s very convenient for me because it’s right across from where I work so it’s not far at all, I can just walk right over anytime. There was a particular server who served the eggs and the bacon and salami in the morning for breakfast that was a bit stingy with the portions, and there was an another server that was very giving of the portions. I know no server is created equal but for breakfast if you want more you have to speak up, don’t automatically think they’ll give you exactly what you want, they don’t know how much you want unless you kindly let them know. I remember when it was self serve but they changed it since 2 years ago when I was there. Other than that it was a nice peaceful, restful, and amazing time.

The hotel was easy to find and had its own small parking lot with free parking. The staff was very helpful, professional, and friendly. Everything was clean, orderly, and minimalistic. Our room had a small balcony that overlooked the main street, but it was directly across from the entrance and parking lot to the US Navy base, so the view is ok but not beautiful. The USS Mount Whitney is docked directly in view. We were just passing through, so we didn’t get a chance to explore the city at all, but apparently others have said there is a lot to see close by. There is an attached restaurant below, with good food and nice staff. We had the fresh grilled fish, which was very good. The free breakfast in the hotel’s breakfast room was good.

I was expecting a “fancier” room for the price I paid in the off season. The WiFi was very weak, so I had to use my cellular data for service. The window next to our table in the downstairs was extremely dirty on the inside, so that was a little concerning, but I don’t know if the restaurant is part of the hotel.

This was a welcoming town, after traveling south from Argentario. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to have the USS Mount Whitney greet is in the immediate bay across from our balcony room. Exactly at 8am, we awoke to Italy's National Anthem and then, America's, as both flags were raised below. Quite a site !!! We were only there for one night and this was the best location and fortunately selected as a last stop before returning to Naples, as many semi-abanonded towns/hotels/beachs/amusement parks were to follow continuing southbound along Italy's west coast , (sad to see this). However, it was NO reflection on Gaeta or Hotel Gajeta. We wish we had more time to explore the whole bay area. The manager was so friendly and suggested dinner in town at Casa Mia which was lovely. He also told us about the 10 minute walk to the beach side where you could swim in October. It was a beautiful beach while viewing old fortresses and caverns embedded into the seaside cliffs. Also, these darling little, friendly schools of fish hang around you in the shallows of the clear Tyrhennian Sea. Hotel Gajeta is a very pretty and classy place to stay. Also, it was very quiet and peaceful staying here.

Breakfast was a little more conservative at our stay and sometimes, hand-selected for you. On the other hand, someone might view this as personal service.

Spacious room with a large private balcony. Free use of washer and dryer plus a drying rack on the balcony. Kitchen area in room with fridge and hot plate. Nice location for commuting to the castle.

Limited direct access to breakfast items. Room was spartan with little bathroom counter space (we ended up using the kitchen area to keep our toiletries since we weren't cooking). Air conditioning didn't seem to work. Staff weren't especially friendly or hospitable but they got the job done.

Perfect spot for both the port and the beach, the breakfast was great with a beautiful view, the room was excellent clean with a beautiful terrazza and amazing view, and the staff was so kind, professional, and very attentive! We also loved the free private parking available! Giada checked us in with a smile and a warm welcome! It was a perfect stay for our family!

The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, professional and efficient. The breakfast was lovely, standard (eggs/bacon/cereal/bread and jam/ luncheon meats/baked sweets) very nice coffees too.

The shuttle to the beach was a bit awkward, but the beach was nice. Upon arriving by train, there was a public bus waiting. I unknowingly, thought that was normal. But it actually was a fluke. Upon leaving, took the same method back to said train. This activity proved to be quite troublesome. The bus stops are not clearly marked, they follow a time table, sort of and the driver will quite literally let you off in the middle of a busy street. Longer story. That’s not really on the hotel, but maybe a shuttle to the train would be enormously valuable to all parties.

It was well situated and on a bus route which was handy. The staff were very helpful and informative about any questions we were upgraded to a room with a view which was a decent size with a balcony

It did not mention that the free shuttle service to the beach only runs until a certain time of the year so was not available at the time of our visit in September

If you've been to Gaeta, you know parking can be difficult, There is parking on site. The complementary breakfast had plenty of options, including protein, even bacon and eggs. The location is perfect for walking the water front. The included photo is the view from the balcony of room 34, which is huge and private.

Staff is amazing and go out of their way! Suggested Excellent Dinner location Great Shuttle that takes you to the beach But honestly I loved the walk to the beach Free chair and umbrella at a great beach club, that alone cost $25 Breakfast was also very good! I’m coming back and staying here for sure

Nothing it was perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing The walls are thin, but nothing you can do about that

The service of the hotel was excellent. There was something going wrong, but the manager helped us a lot and arranged for it the best way. We were very lucky to stay in this hotel for 3 nights. We'll definitely go back next year If we visit Geata, Italy. By the way breakfast was 5 star.
