Very clean room. Owner lovely man . Did not meet Lorraine.

A warmer welcome would have been nice. We got taken up 3 flights of stairs, given keys and told breakfast was at 8.30 and then told as we booked via Booking.com it would be continental breakfast only. We would have liked to have been asked if we had eaten or like a drink and shown to the bar. Does not cater for special dietary requirements as stated. Vegan, not much call for advised by Lorraine via email, so was asked to bring own 'special food' etc. I gave 36hr notice. In this day and age Vegan/vegetarian should be catered for as standard. Breakfast was cheese, yogurt, butter, milk. I had dry toast and a banana. If they could get this right it would be a perfect place.

On my next strip to Scotland I would spend the majority of my time at The Victoria. Lorraine & David Boa go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The dinner was perfect and the breakfast was just what I needed. The pub in the back of the inn was just what I would looking for. The local residents gather there and are so friendly. Originally I was going to stay for one night but ended up staying for three and hated to have to leave.

There is nothing not to like about The Victoria. The Inn, village and people made everything perfect. I would love to live there.

The location, the hotel, our room, the staff, the meals were all wonderful. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the view from our room was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Two minor things could have been better. 1. The toilet seat in our room was not secure and kept swinging to one side. Although we mentioned it to the manager, it was not repaired during our stay. It wasn't a dealbreaker as the toilet still worked properly, it was just awkawrd to sit on. 2. We were travelling from NZ and had large suitcases (not overnight bags) which were a mission to get up all the stairs to the top floor. Again, not a dealbreaker as we had requested a room with a splendid view and understood that meant top floor, but a dumbwaiter to move our cases upstairs would have been a godsend.

Victoria hotel is an older property situated a stones throw from the sea front in Portknockie. Inside there is a wide mahogany staircase leading upstairs to the bedrooms and rooms to the dining room, lounge bar and public bar off the corridor. We were welcomed into the hotel and shown directly to our room. It was a little chilly, but Lorraine went straight upstairs and sorted our radiator which was brilliant. We were on the top floor and our room was clean and well presented. It had older style dark wood furniture in keeping with the rest of the property. The bed was comfortable with fresh white bedding. There have been other comments about squeaky beds - it does squeak, but it was so comfortable and cosy it did not affect us. There is a small en suite shower room off the bedroom - slightly variable temperature on the shower but good water pressure especially for an older building. Fluffy white towels were provided and hand soap/ shampoo. Breakfast is served downstairs - a continental style self-service and a hot option if you prefer it. This was cooked to order and the portions sizes were generous - and delicious. We had dinner in the lounge bar, where there was a choice of food including 4 vegetarian options, which was a great surprise. Huge portions of freshly cooked food and very reasonable prices. The public bar had a lot of local people drinking there, so obviously the beer is good. I had a local gin and tonic - Lorraine’s recommendation- and it was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. It is not a high end hotel, it is a comfortable, friendly and extremely good value hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it for visitors to the area.

We stayed here for one night at this old charming hotel in a small coastal town. We had a room a the very top of this small hotel, so lots of stairs, but an excellent sea view. The hotel has its own restaurant, which is very convenient, since no other options are available in the town. We had a very nice dinner at the restaurant.

We only had the continental breakfast included, but it was fine. A lot of noise when flushing the toilet.

We booked a spontaneous visit for the bank holiday weekend and loved our stay. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were comfy and warm, we slept very well! The rooms were quiet, but it was lively downstairs with the small reasonably-priced restaurant and separated pub. The breakfast was better than expected. We’ve done a lot of travelling and when you see “continental breakfast”, from experience, it lowers our expectations. But this was not the case at The Victoria Hotel, the breakfast was diverse and very filling. In terms of the area itself, Portknockie is a great mid-sized village with fascinating architecture. It’s perfectly located as we used it as a base to road trip the beautiful North East Scotland for three days. With the new owners of the property I can see The Victoria Hotel getting even better and more popular overtime. It’s clear that they are very passionate about the property.

Gorgeous hotel. Conveniently located. Owners are delightful. Easy to park in front. My room was very comfy. Was nice to have the local bar/hotspot right downstairs (don't be scared, it's not rowdy). Was nice to have an on-site dinner option.

Breakfast was a tad disappointing as the only protein option was yogurt, and nothing is available before 830am. Didn't seem worth the £5 price to me. Would have been nice to have a luggage rack in the room as well as a USB port (to be fair, throughout my travels, I only found these amenities at the chain hotels)

Spacious and well decorated. Very welcoming staff and owners - enjoyed chatting with locals at the bar. Gave advanced notice in the morning that kitchen wasn't open for dinner but were offered use of cutlery etc for takeaway. Great location with enough parking outside. Continental breakfast was a nice change and there was a varied selection of items with freshly brewed coffee.

Location was amazing. Breakfast was okay

Hauling bags up to 4 flights. Would like to see a bit more of a Scottish breakfast including sausage’s, tomato’s, beans, hash brown and mushrooms. Most willing to pay extra for that. Also music in dinning for both breakfast and dinner. Ambiance’s is needed to really have a great experience. Otherwise wonderful

The hosts are very friendly, highly supportive and have taken care of everything guests would need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and all of them on the upper floor come with a view of the sea. The owner has a collection of rare and fine whisky for anyone willing to try some of the finest scotch. The hosts have recently opened the place but everything is well organised and efficiently run. The place is conveniently located along the coastline of Moray so can be a hub for all nearby seaside towns, Spey bay, Roseisle beach and park and all other nearby tourist attractions. Highly recommended.

Absolutely nothing we didn’t like.
