This place is in a UNESCO treasure. You feel that great energy when you are there. You feel as if you are one with nature. The rice fields around the property beat out most of the paddies in more touristed locations. Grab a motorbike and enjoy steep and winding roads with very little traffic! Authentic village experience. Management is very responsive and become your friends instantly. This is luxury camping, not a luxury hotel. Really interesting architecture. We stayed at the villa above the rest and it was their largest villa so we had a lot of room to roam. Nature is hard on manmade things, so don't expect squeaky clean. Expect the best glamping experience ever. Great price for a very unique experience. Hosts will be life-long friends.

Furniture was uncomfortable, but we were not in the room much, so it didn't matter too much. Bed was excellent. This is sleep in the jungle, so expect the regular noises of village and jungle life. Being part of nature is what you come for, if not, this place is not your thing. You will need transport to get to any other places to eat. Food here is the best of basic local cooking and a good experience.

I love the property, it's very unique and you can feel like your in the middle of the rainforest. I like the bathroom and the fact that you have your own pool. Beautiful property, with friendly staff that are very welcoming.

There isn't much around as the property is quite far out. I would like a mini bar in the room, as if you don't arrive with your own drinks it's quite hard to obtain them and I would also like more options for breakfast as I feel it was quite limited.

When you arrive at Amarta Retreat you are greeted with warm family style hospitality. We were offered a delicious Bali coffee and homemade banana fritters to enjoy as we checked in while our son enjoyed feeding the fish with D’suka and the Amarta staff who made us feel so incredibly welcome our entire stay. As you make your way down the stairs through the lush forest towards your villa it is like walking into Wonderland, Amarta is truly as stunning as it looks in the pictures. The beds and pillows are just as lush as the accomodation itself and we highly recommend just taking it all in and enjoying the fabulous homemade food available for room service to your villa. There is honestly no need to go anywhere, everything you need for you stay is here and service is incredible. On the drive in you will enjoy stunning views of the rice terraces which are also a beautiful sight at sunrise. Thank you to all at Amarta retreat for making our stay here such a special and memorable one. Highly recommend.

Only 2 bamboo duplex. But they are building 3 more. I love my stay there, but I would not spend more than 1 night. The amazing sound of the river. The nature is just so nice here. The couple very nice, she make massage.

In the rainy season not very convenient, the wc get totally wet. Miss side bed lamps. The breakfast not for me. The coffee is without filter.

It has an amazing mix of local plus modern facilities. The private pool was amazing to laze around. The cooking class we took was an amazing experience and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience I would recommend.

The place has the wow factor! Sooooo easy on the eye….. Wild jungle living, the living area is open but the bedroom has the option to close up and turn on the AC if that is your thing. But the important thing here is this is in nature, in all her glory. The sounds of the jungle are ever present and the trickle of the river sings you to sleep. A place to really unplug from everything and slow down, ground and be present in the heart of one of Bali’s most beautiful and untouched areas. This is positioned on the western most border of the Jati Luwih UNESCO world heritage area so you have a lot of beautiful rice terraces with absolutely everything that UNESCO have certified the area for and not a tourist in sight. The food was great, a mixture of traditional Indonesian with very well done western dishes. Breakfast was Indonesian style, delicious nasi goreng and fresh fruit some coming from the on site permaculture gardens. My son prefers nasi kuning which he asked the staff for and they catered for his request and he was very happy :) The facilities are great, horse riding, fishing, classic VW car tour, sulphur spring pool, permaculture gardens, everything catered for with a big Balinese smile and a thorough understanding of the locality. The staff are all from the local village which ensures that the presence of Amarta Persagi is felt in a vet positive way within the community which is obvious in the way the local people interact with the facility. This area has a genuine Balinese authenticity that is very rare these days. There is a certain energy up there in the hills that is difficult to put into words. It was so ice to rediscover this. We will keep coming back as long as it is here. A real gem tucked away from the bustle of southern Bali. Close to the humdrum yet just far away enough to forget about everything. Everything. I stayed here last year and fell in love with it, so booked this year. For a two-storey bamboo house located in the middle of the woods with no one else around but birds, insects and giant black squirrels, $150 is a bargain. 10/10 and highly recommend to couples and solo travellers like myself :))))

Food and drinks were a little dearer than elsewhere, but considering it's a resort, that's also understandable.

It was a magical location amongst the rice fields in nature. The staff was absolutely incredible!

There were some building works going on but we do understand that those are needed to improve the property so it’s okay

Just a lovely place. House was beautifully crafted with bamboo. Just a stunning place!! Bed was also really comfy and the staff was so sweet. All people from the local area.

Food was good, but could be a little bit more variation. There was only chicken available.

Absolutely loved our stay here, the staff were very welcoming and attentive, the location and scenery is beautiful and peaceful. The service and food was awesome. Would defiently recommend if you're wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the City.
