Maria and Costas (and the two generations of their family on either side) were so wonderful and welcoming, we couldn't have been made to feel more at home. They are such generous and lovely proprietors, nothing feels like too much to ask, I was totally blown away. We ate our evening meal out a few times but only wanted to come back to the restaurant at Baladinos because the delicious food there is prepared with love, because it is basically their family kitchen too, and it felt like we were eating in their home. Don't expect to see a menu anywhere. Costas and Maria will give you a verbal run down of all the dishes they have freshly prepared that day and you can choose from vegetarian and meat options, slow cooked, oven cooked and grilled - they have salads, ice cream and a bar too. A great sign is that so many locals choose it as their spot for an evening drink and a meal, or a weekend hang out. The room was a simple set up and had plenty of space form my son and I to enjoy our stay. It was cleaned every day which was great. The kitchen is enough to prepare a simple meal from, so we made breakfasts and our own lunches, but ate the delicious breakfast in the restaurant whenever we felt like it too. Baladinos Apartments is literally ON the beach, it's idyllic, we spent every day hanging out there. We could borrow an umbrella for the beach, which was great - beware the wind - umbrellas not always practical. We would love to return if we can!

- The bathroom seemed like a bit of a squeeze to fit everything in, but it all worked well enough. - The apartment kitchen includes 1x very small and 1x enormous saucepan - I thought a medium sized saucepan could be a good addition, plus a sharp knife. The cereal/soup bowls we requested were promptly supplied by the restaurant kitchen for the duration of our stay, thank you! - Baladinos offers you access to their sun loungers on the beach, which is wonderful. I think they could do with a little service/refresh as they are a bit worse for ware, some more so than others.

The location is perfect—just a three-minute walk from the bus stop by the sea. The beach is always uncrowded; in the morning, there was no one but us, which I consider a huge plus. Sunbeds are also available. The sea is beautiful, though the weather can be quite changeable—but even with waves, it’s still swimmable. The food deserves special mention—it’s delicious, no worse than in nearby restaurants, and perhaps even better. A special thanks to Maria for her help and kindness. I definitely recommend this place!

We had internet problems in our room, but it worked fine in other areas. That was almost the only drawback, though.

We stayed 40 days in Baladinos and we will definitely come back. Excellent apartments on the beach. I enjoyed sounds of sea waves all day long including night as apartments have nice balconies with a stunning view. You have to try their dishes as well, I have never ate such delicious Greek salad in my life as Baladinos restaurant has. Othello, the dog, I will miss him so much. He was always so kind with kids playing around. We felt like we stayed at friends house. I wish all the best to Baladinos team and thousands of kisses to Othello❤️ beds were very comfortable, cleaning was also great, the view, small kitchen — everything was on top. thank you once again

Our stay by the beach was truly unforgettable, thanks to the outstanding hospitality of Maria and her family. Their genuine warmth and kindness turned our holiday into one of the most cherished vacations we've ever experienced. The memory of enjoying fresh figs straight from the farm still lingers, as does Maria’s thoughtful help in arranging a birthday cake for my wife. These personal touches made all the difference. Even if the expectations were a bit high after reading the reviews and viewing the pictures, I cannot forget how I felt when I actually got there. I was overwhelmed by the natural beauty of the place and I felt very lucky to have discovered this gem. I don't know if any review or picture could actually describe how you feel there. And then it got better, every day. Everything was perfect: the beach, the bar, the food, and especially the people there. And the slow blues, of course 🙂. I cannot imagine I would stay anywhere else if I come back to Crete.

Baladinos Apartments is a magic place where you can relax, eating very good food, enjoying the company of the other guests and at the same time have the privilege to be very close to a beautiful beach. Maria & Costas are very friendly as well as all the family. They don’t treat you just as a customer but as a member of their family. They do all their best to meet all the requests and needs you can have because they really care to make you feel happy and most importantly to enjoy your holiday. Every evening before dinner you can admire the sunset and in the morning, if you wake up early, the sunrise. Besides, it is a peaceful place, the apartment are equipped and clean. Beds are comfortable. Really recommended!

It is lovely home for holiday in great location: next to a big and not crowded beach, convenient to reach by public transport, several supermarkets located in walking distance, various and very delicious home made quality food (healthy and vegetarian friendly). Here we found everything what was needed for our relaxing week on the island and felt like visiting friends. We, two families with teenagers, were very warm welcomed by amazing hosts Maria and Kostas, who also kindly gave us useful tips, so we were able to travel without a car to all the places we wished, e.g. Falassarna, Elafonissi, Chania. We would like to comeback.

The location, the ambience, the welcome, the hosts, the food - everything. It is located righht on the beach and guaranteed not to be crowded. You feel right at home, it doesn't feel like it's a hotel, more like a home away from home. A warm welcome is guaranteed by Maria and Kostas, and the delicious food is prepared by Maria - real home-cooking with vegetables from the their garden. It's a real relaxing get-away - I will be back!

There was nothing that stood out for me. It isn't as polished as some of the other places along the beach, but that is its charm, and you feel part of it. It doesn't have a pool, but why bother when you have the sea at your doorstep?

We are absolutely delighted with the Baladinous apartments. The host is very welcoming and gave us excellent recommendations. The breakfasts are delicious, and the location is right on the beachfront: sunbeds, a SUP board, umbrellas. You can also get an umbrella and beach towels. Yes, the shower cabin is not very spacious, but everything else is simply wonderful! We will definitely come back if we’re ever in the area again.
