The hotel had an excellent location for a short stop during a longer trip, and it is a very charming building. The room was simple and small and comfortable for our 1-night stay but maybe not for longer. But we would like to acknowledge the friendly staff and the restaurant. We had an excellent meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere, which sometimes is not easy to find in more rural parts of France outside of the peak season. You could tell that the restaurant is popular also among locals. We also enjoyed the breakfast and thought that it had enough goid options.

A fascinating idyll in a quiet location with very friendly staff. We opted for their dinner which was exceptional and very welcome on a very long journey on our way from Rome! Loved the Napoleanic theme and fascinating array of photographs hanging in the reception areas. Lovely breakfast too before heading off on the next leg of our journey.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, however my bed was very close to the hotel boiler which was noisy. Luckily, I was too tired to effect me too badly!

I asked for charging possibility of electric car and was told that it is right opposite the hotel. Unfortunately this was not the case. Although there is a gas station, no possibility to charge my car. I had to find a charger further away. I would have chosen the hotel without charger, just adapting my travel plans. Now I feel taken advantage of.

lovely big hotel,, good size room with balcony but not the best view looking over eating terrace,,, situated on a main road although set back was still a little noise but not deal breaker,, eating on site was really nice good food helpful staff, we couldn't really understand menu but the waiting on girl was very helpful,,

We stayed here as a stop over on the way back from Italy, it is very convenient after crossing from Switzerland. We found all the staff really helpful and friendly and were fascinated by all the mechanical models dotted around and other items, which included two full size model soldiers in the doorway and a life size model of Napoleon. We only stayed for one night, but would have been very happy to stay longer to visit the area. We do the trip regularly and the Hotel Kuentz will definitely be on our list of places to stay. We ate in the restaurant and would definitely recommend it, a good choice, whether you want a full meal or something lighter and the service was great.

easy check in, room was nice and clean, Ideal for our needs. the parking was on private land in front of the hotel, ideal location for touring the area, restaurant in the evening was busy, allways a good sign, the food was very good, breakfast was good,

Lovely place, great restaurant and garden.

We liked everything at the hotel but Booking.com (as has happened before) hadn't communicated our need for 2 separate beds.

We appreciated having a room that accommodated our family of 5 (2 adults and three children), with a separate space for the kids, as this can be hard to find. We were impressed with the quality of the bedding, and the fact that there was lots of storage space. There was also plenty of parking space, and the staff were very friendly. Location-wise, it is not far from Altkirch and Illfurth. My kids loved the fresh orange juice machine.

The breakfast was nice, but expensive, and it would have been nice to have a different rate for children. The wifi connection was patchy in our room. We had dinner in the restaurant the first evening, and service was very slow - the staff looked overwhelmed, and never made eye contact to see if we needed anything. We even saw another client go to the kitchen to get bread and water herself as she was tired of waiting! The food wasn't great (salmon with a side of overcooked rice and vegetables), although the couple we were with had the same dish the evening before, and said it was much nicer then, so maybe there was an issue in the kitchen...

Perfect mid-point for my on-ward journey.

Staff didn't speak much English (not I French), this made ordering food from the very French menu difficult. More suitable to people with a knowledge of the language perhaps.

Stayed just a night. Beautiful property set in a pretty village. The food was good and the staff friendly, maked me feel at home. Thanks for the hospitality. Don't forget to get the ice cream cake for dessert, it was scrumptious. I would love to return if I am back in that area.
