Old fashioned Lourdes Guest House seemed perfect place to stay in Lourdes. Room simple but beautiful. Very clean and room tasteful , all you needed was provided and lovely bathroom. Very peaceful hotel and location superb. View of the town and river-tranquil. Did not have breakfast but dining area looked beautiful and lovely balcony/vernanda to sit and have coffee if guest wanted. Receptionist very helpful and everything was clear from the beginning. Great place to stay visiting Lourdes . Access to everything you needed . Highly recommend

Christina was an excellent host. She made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The rooms are charming and neat, washrooms were clean. The bed was comfortable with medium firmness. Linens were clean. Their towels were fairly new. No complaints with water pressure and hot water. Location was excellent with a great view of the river. It's just across the bridge from Porte Ste Michel and in the middle of the 2 major commercial areas. Will definitely stay here again.

I didn't mind, but this might concern some. Their shower does not have a curtain. It takes some effort not to get the bathroom floor wet.

The warm and genuine welcome and hospitality from our host Christina, it was a home to home experience and second to none.. She couldn't do enough to make our stay so memorable. As we would say she was a "feeder", continental breakfast and we were always offered more if we wished to avail! The view from the breakfast room is stunning! So apologetic that her lift had broken down due to the extreme heatwave being experienced and offered via this platform visitors the option to cancel. To add there is air conditioning - it made the 93° temperature very tolerable. A family run hotel, quaint and the simplicity of its shabby chic style, I adored. Spotlessly clean- thank you to her lovely housekeeper Maria. Our room had a balcony, looking out on the river...what a view...waking to the sound of the roar of the river.....fabulous location, 5 min walk from shops/restaurants and basicilla! Just beware there are hills in Lourdes! Would I recommend this place - 1000%. Go raibh maith agat Christina for our French lessons and your wonderful,warm welcome! 🙏🇮🇪

Where to begin? I'd already fallen in love with the pictures online, which did no justice to how beautiful this space is in person! Christine is the absolute PERFECT host, and I miss her homely and welcoming person. Our room had the most breathtaking view ever! I couldn't get enough of it, and would just sit on the balcony not daring to blink so I could absorb as much of it as I could. The room itself was sweet and small, and absolutely delightful! I loved the charm, decor, and simplicity. The bathroom was always kept clean - thank you Maria de Lourdes! - and the entire experience was truly peaceful. The breakfast was a relief. I was so glad I didn't have to go hopping around cafes trying to find a good breakfast every morning, which can be hit and miss. We had not booked breakfast, but Christine was able to accommodate us, thankfully. I will not soon forget that fresh, crunchy baguette, delicious butter, and the pitchers of hot chocolate I was plied with every morning! God bless you Christine! Another huge plus is the proximity to the basilica, which was very important for me. During the time of my visit (summer), the basilica is open from 6 am to 1 am, so I could come and go with ease from the hotel, at any given moment if I felt I needed to return to the grotto, and I could be there in 5 minutes. This brought a lot of calm to me as well. I can go on and on, but in summary, this is the only place I want to stay in in Lourdes. It is absolutely - perfect -.

The host, Christina, was a superb host! She was welcoming, friendly, and willing to do anything to make our stay even better. The hotel was spotlessly clean, very French style, our room had a balcony on two sides. There were various outside terraces and multiple little lounges for the guests to enjoy. We had a view of the Basilica steeple from our room. The air conditioner was superb and worked extremely well, even during a severe heatwave. The location to the Lourdes Sanctuary was as close as you could get.

We loved everything about our stay. Christina really made this a memorable two nights in Lourdes.

Staying at Hôtel Sainte Marie was the right decision. We're very satisfied with the services, the rooms, the location and the facilities. Location is very close to The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes and Massabielle Grotto. Only 3 minutes walk to the sanctuary (St. Michael Gate). The hotel has private parking. The room is spacious and clean, with a great view from our balcony. The owner of this hotel, Christine, she's the best. She's so nice and warm. She's really paid attention to our needs, and ready to help when needed. If one day we come back to Lourdes, definitely will return to stay at Hôtel Sainte Marie. Christine is the most beautiful hostess you could hope for. The best part is feeling her warmth and welcome. The hotel was within a few minutes walk to the start of the sanctuary so was really convenient. Enjoyed the little continental breakfast that we had in the lovely breakfast room. Do not miss the gorgeous yoghurt that is sourced from local farms. Just perfect to start the morning. Thank you for your hospitality Christine.

Christine is a lovely lady. She is the hotel, if it wasn't for her infectious happy, nothings to much persona then I would have marked it down. The hotel is situated up a gradient so not suitable for everyone. The river with it rolling rapids just outside the hotel is very pretty with the mountains in the background. The grotto is about a 10 - 15 minute walk away from the hotel just over the bridge. There are free entry toilets around the grounds of the grotto. There are loads of tourists shops selling rosary beads, plastic and glass bottles to take some of the holy water home etc. Loads of places to eat.

You get what you pay for. This hotel is very basic but clean. They do have a small lift to the floors. What they don't supply in the rooms is a complimentary tea and coffee tray with a kettle which would be handy when you get back to your room after all the walking you will be doing. They also don't supply complimentary shampoo and conditioner. You can order a continental breakfast at €9 per head which consists of tea/coffee, a croissant a couple of pieces of baguette with various jams and honey. A slice of ham and a slice of cheese and a yoghurt. No fresh pieces of fruit which would have been lovely.

It is a great little hotel, quite central and walkable, but there are hills, lots of pedestrian traffic along some very narrow access streets. Our room was a lower floor room with a view to the river, this was great for me, but the flowing water noise was not so favourable for my wife. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, helpful and offered many suggestions. The booked parking is also a blessing, as the many, many pilgrims fill the parking locations fast.

The shower, minus a screen or curtain, needs plenty of caution to avoid a very wet floor. There were only 2 available power outlets in our room that were away from the bedsides.

The location was fantastic! Right on the river and within a very short walk to the bridge leading to the cathedral. The room was large with window that could be opened. There were also shutters that could be closed for complete darkness if desired. The room was very quiet and very clean. We opted for the breakfast which included ham and cheese, yogurt, juice, coffee, bread and croissant. Very tasty and fresh and worth the cost. The owner was very sweet and caring, asking us how we were whenever we saw her. I would definitely recommend this place if staying in Lourdes!
