Room was quiet - adequate soundproofing to ensure no street noise. Good location - easy access to public transport, restaurants and shopping. Fresh, chilled water available in lobby. Bed was comfortable. Good sized and very clean and contemporary bathroom. Towels changed daily without requesting.

Room smaller than expected for an upgrade to 'charme' category. Wifi a bit unreliable. Room would benefit from more lighting. Elevator very small but understandable in an older property. Glad we didn't attempt to use hotel parking as entrance very restricted. Didn't like coming into/leaving the hotel through a cloud of cigarette/cigar smoke from people smoking on the terrace

This is a great boutique hotel right on the main boulevard of Aix. We didn't take advantage of the spa facilities, so we can't report on that. But the location is great, a "city hotel" in Aix. There are bars and restaurants everywhere on the street, and little markets everywhere. The room was not large, but it made up for that in excellent facilities. There is parking available, which however is not free -- but that is to be expected in the middle of the city. The hotel's bar and restaurant were very nice.

Any problems are mainly related to the fact that the hotel is right in the middle of the city and the main boulevard, and therefore space is at a premium. Thus the paid parking; the relatively small rooms; and the VERY small elevator. However, the great location compensates for much of this.

Accessing the hotel by car is fairly tricky, but reception staff talked us through it really clearly in real time. All staff we met were helpful and friendly. We had a very comfortable room on the 4th floor with a view over the city to the hills beyond. The hotel is really well situated on the Cours Mirabeau for accessing Vieil Aix and the city's outdoor cafe culture.

Hotel contacted us multiple times by e mail and phone to 'upsell' extras (the last such e mail even arrived after we had left....) - it became rather annoying.

The property has dedicated parking , but it is very complicated to access, the initial sign posting for the very specific route is not great, and requires phoning the hotel twice to access different roads every time you want park. This should be made clearer on booking, as we were exploring the area and using the car a lot and I would not recommend this hotel if you are planning to do the same.

Perfect boutique hotel right in the pedestrian historical centre of Aix. The rooms are spacious and well appointed (even the classic ones) - I didn’t need any upgrades. What I liked the most is that the rooms are pointing to a very quiet courtyard, I could happily sleep at night only hearing birds singing and no other noise at all :) The Reception staff is professional, helpful and accommodating - it was a pleasure. I found hotel restaurant to be very good and reasonably priced. It was lovely dining there while people watching. The restaurant service was good as well. The hotel has a very nice spa where I enjoyed one of the best massages ever. All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in a beautiful city of Aix-enProvince :)))

Honestly the only fact that the bed mattresses are extremely soft, they feel like a hammock which made sleeping uncomfortable and I developed a backache - that’s where the massage comes handy :)

Breakfast was a disappointment. We were in a hurry, and when we went down to the breakfast room, we realized it was open to the public. It took much longer than the time we had, and it wasn’t charged to the room.

The Spa at the Hotel is very nice, especially after a long day out. However what sets this property apart is the amazing staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, everyone at this hotel made me feel welcome, and among friends. As a solo traveler, my experience in upscale hotels does vary with service, and the people at Negrecoste were amongst the kindest and most charming I've encounter on this trip. Thank you!

The staff was so friendly in guiding us through the town with our vehicle to get to the parking lot (be sure to reserve in advance). The room was wonderful and quiet. The overall location was a prime spot in Aix and appreciated while our trip was short being able to walk everywhere quickly. The spa facilities are wonderful including the water/sauna experience and I would recommend you add it as part of your time at the hotel.

Honestly there is nothing, if I was reaching it would be that we had an electric car and when I asked about the cost to use their chargers it was 60 euros, which is more than what we spent in charging our electric car the entire week we were exploring the region. We did not use the chargers.

Location, location, location! The hotel is situated on the main corridor, “Cors Mirabeau”, with great exposure to restaurants, museums and shopping. Hotel staff went above and beyond any request and the rooms were well appointed. Cheers

I loved the fact that the Hotel read my email in regards to having a bath in my room, it was such a beautiful surprise arriving and they were excited to grant my wish. The room was spacious and had a lovely view of the festivities out side. The hotel spa is simply amazing, I booked in for the half hour facial (to get me ready for my bath) and it came with a foot massage and back massage too. We parked at the hotel and the directions to get there were simple and great!
