First of all, let's talk location. We only stayed at this hotel for the view, and it was a view worth paying for. The pyramids are viewable from our room, but even better from the roof! That said, the hotel excelled itself beyond the view. The room was very big. Some people have mentioned how dated the rooms in Egypt are, and while this is also the case for Gardenia, the room was clean, and that's the most important thing to me - I can deal with dated and tired, but clean is a must! The main man - Mohammad I think - was wonderful. He clearly took delight in my excitement at seeing the pyramids, but he was also very attentive, ordering in dinner for us on the first night (we arrived very late - the taxi ride from airport is about an hour!) and answering any queries we had, such as local ATM etc. The reservation included breakfast and this was also wonderful - no continental or English style breakfast (yay!) but an authentic breakfast of Egyptian dishes. We loved it, trying each item offered even if just a small spoonful to taste. The hotel reception is on the 13th floor, and the elevator that takes you there is wonderful - I felt like I had stepped back in time. Finally, the bed. I would personally put this down as a negative, but that's because I'm a sucker for a soft bed. The mattresses are hard. My partner slept well (he loves a hard mattress) but I struggled, so something to be aware of.
There isn't anything that I didn't like. Except the noise, but this is not the fault of the hotel! Cairo is a very noisy city - you'll notice when you get in the taxi that their driving is instinctive and chaotic at the same time. Which means there is a lot of honking. That as well as the frequent calling to prayer (which was wonderful to hear by the way) made for noisy nights. I think the traffic noise stopped for just one hour each night! That said, the view and the wonderful hotel staff make up for it - just remember to pack some earplugs / headphones and you'll be fine!

The hotel is located at the top of a high building (upper few floors), with the breakfast terrace on top. The view from both the room and the terrace was amazing, we woke up with the Giza pyramids and could enjoy the view all day. We literally had better view on them than from the viewpoint next to the pyramid site. The room was pretty OK for 4 adults (a family) travelling together, and we also had air conditioning. The breakfast was various, with both Egyptian and European food options, some coffee and tea. There is a small shop located right next to the building's entrance where you can buy water/basic food, but they only accept EGP and cash. The hotel offers airport transfer, I recommend them, both of our drivers were very nice and drove well even in the busy hours.
The area where the hotel is located is not really welcoming, I don't recommend walking around. We literally only get out from our taxi and went into the building. The beds are quite hard, for me it was OK, but not everyone likes them. There is no dedicated shower area in the bathroom, no shower curtain, so eg. the toilet area (toilet paper incl.) will get wet after a shower. Only a few space for putting your stuff while showering where it doesn't get wet.

staff were so lovely and helpful. they all tried to speak English with me and I greatly appreciated it. it was about 25 min walk to the pyramids and you can’t ask for more than that. The area may look a little scretchy if your not use to all the noise and hustle and bustle but don’t stress. we didn’t have any problems. found people kind and friendly and the local food was amazing!!! Staff in the hotel helped us so much with organising transport and Ubers to places. we booked a day tour and it was 100% worth it (not something we normally do) and we also booked our bike cruise through the hotel, on the cruise Monica and I wish I could find out how to leave a review for that because it was the best part of our 6 week trip through 6 countries! absolutely amazing !! thank you everyone
needs a clean and a fix up

This hotel is located in a lively area a stones throw from the pyramids. Although the nearby shopping streets could be bustling at times, you are high above that, so it is very quiet. The location was brilliant, there are shops, cafes and even an off licence within a short distance. Because tourists are not common in this part of the city, we got a bit of attention - but that was mostly kids wanting to practice their English. It all felt very friendly. The views are simply unbeatable (see the photos). Even if the rooms with balconys are fully booked, you can watch the sunset or sunrise on the pyramids from the roof terrace. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and were very flexible about check out and leaving the bags.
The only issue we had was a small problem with the hot water. But that was sorted out in ten minutes. There was nothing not to like, this place completely exceeded our expectations for such reasonably priced accomodation.

We loved everything. The view of course is amazing but the staff are almost better then the view! Everyone we came into contact with was lovely the check in was amazing and simple and everyone was so happy to welcome us. They even ordered us food that we desperately wanted to try. I will recommend this stay to all my friends. We walked to the pyramids - it is about 20 minutes, but the offer some amazing tours which we would have done if we were time poor. The rooms were lovely. Beds comfortable - aircon worked amazingly well! Can’t fault the stay.
Nothing.

the rooftop had the most amazing views as it was 14 stories and the tallest building around showing the pyramids and to the city. this is why we booked this hotel and we weren’t disappointed. quiet street and with local shops and Laneways comfortable bed friendly staff a nice breakfast with guava juice Ahmed was very attentive throughout our stay and the young fellow on the roof was always trying to offer assistance if needed
the room was a bit small very little space to put your luggage the toilet and shower are combined and are very small + the smallest I’d come across in a month of travel the shower had a plumbing issue and water didn’t drain away a bit smelly in the bathroom but this seems to be common in cairo like a lot of hotels in cairo, the doors squeak and the corridors echo our room with a city view wasn’t what was pictured ~ couldn’t see the city from the room. however the room had a door and a short walk to the edge of the building offered a view the sales pitch from staff after we had just arrived after a long day travelling wasn’t appreciated, it wasn’t hard sales, but it could have waited until the next day.

The view of the pyramids.. can’t beat that! Friendly staff, very helpful at all times. The manager really goes the extra mile to please the guesy. The tours he organised were a real hit each time (one of the pyramids, and the second one in Luxor) The pictures suited the description of the room that was booked
Nothing to dislike but i would like to seize this opportunity to write the following : Be prepared to get into the real local life once you reach the hotel and not expect some 5 star well maintained street or whatsoever. It can be challenging for some people not used to this but at all times i never felt unsafe. Room facilities are basic but functional . Also, expect a local egyptian breakfast (tasty by the way) ..

Amazing view from the rooftop. Friendly staff. Local area so restaurants have no english but best falafel in Egypt for under 10 Egyptian pound just a few doors down. Snacks available downstairs at little supermarket and bigger supermarket around the corner. Easy to get uber to pyramids.
Breakfast was different each day and egyptian not western style. Still nice stuff with bread and fresh fruit amongst the choices and my husband absolutely loved the local food. First two mornings there was buffet, day one no omelette, day two got an omelette and on third day no buffet. We were served a plate of food, most of which I wld not have selected if at the buffet and got an omlette only when I asked. Small stuff but so simple to just leave as buffet so as to not waste food. Our room for first night had no tv or fridge as listed but staff happily changed rooms for us the next day with the tv and fridge.

Undoubtedly, the best part of the hotel is the view from the rooftop. This terrace is like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city with an unbelievable sight of the pyramids of Giza. We had breakfast and dinner there every day. We also got great views from our room's window, which was a plus. All staff members were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We booked a tour in advance for one of the days we were there, and we booked a time directly with them for our second day and did not regret it. Their tour guide, Abdul, was very knowledgeable and he adjusted to our rhythm very well. They also sent a driver to pick us up from the airport. There is a convenience store right by the entrance of the hotel to buy essentials (like water bottles) if needed. We are overall very happy with our experience there!
Unfortunately, the size of the room was not very big. We were traveling with a total of four suitcases, and this made our time in the room kind of uncomfortable because of the lack of space to even stand and move around the room. I am not sure if they had bigger rooms than the one that was given to us. You also should know that it can get noisy (street dogs barking, cars honking, and prayers). At night is when we noticed it the most because it is when we spend time in the hotel (since we were exploring the city and the area during the day). But I feel like this would happen every and anywhere in the city. I don't think it was something only about this hotel. Even with some noise sometimes, we still slept well overall though.
