We loved our stay at Balatura The Fine Bed&Breakfast. Our host greeted us warmly and was so accommodating to us. We needed help with laundry (after just completing a week at sail), and they were able to do for us same day. Our room was gorgeous, we had plenty of space, and were quite comfortable. The walk over to the historic old town was short and fun to walk through the local market. The breakfasts were so nice! We loved learning this is a family-run business, and the history of the property. The host was so sweet as she noticed my husband's birthday when she checked us in, and surprised us at breakfast with a small piece of cake for him :)

Visible graffiti all around the streets outside of the historic old town was unexpected. Our host reassured us the neighborhood was quite safe, and we did feel safe after our few days visit. We would still highly recommend, and would stay here again no question.

We loved our stay. The beds were so comfortable and it was lovely having a sofa in the room as well as the balcony. The shower was really hot and powerful. Everyone who we spoke to who worked at Balatura were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect (we especially liked the black bread and pastries) and we liked they provided blankets on the terrace in case it was chilly. A 5 minute walk takes you to the old town by way of a pretty neighbourhood and the food market. We caught the shuttle bus to the ferry port from the airport and from here it was just a 10 minute walk to Balatura (recommend you check a map for directions - Google works fine for this).

Great location in the charming old city just a few minutes walk from Diocletian's palace. Very very helpful and friendly receptionist. Good breakfast in the morning. Room was clean and comfortable. Extremely quiet - we heard no street noise whatsoever, and also no noise from other guest rooms.

Parking nearby was a hassle, we drove around and around the tiny narrow streets for half an hour looking for parking. Also no lift (elevator), so be prepared to carry your bags up two or more flights of stairs (albeit the receptionist was more than happy to assist).

We had a really wonderful time at Balatura on our minimoon to Split. It was a beautifully clean, well presented and well equipped B&B (the only one in Split we could find) with a huge comfy bed. The room was bigger than the photos suggested and the bathroom, with its large rainfall shower head, was wonderful, especially.good after really hot days out. It was in the perfect location, situated along a lovely quiet, picturesque street in the Old Town, just outside Diocletian's palace, so in the heart of Old Split but outside the very busy tourist hotspot. The breakfast was great, we were able to order as much or little as we wanted and they were so accommodating when we forgot to put our breakfast order in before the specified time (9pm). The staff were just lovely and so helpful and made our stay feel very special. We would happily go back to Balatura anytime and recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere that offers more than just a room or slightly less personal hotel experience. Oh also the aircon was amazing! Worked so well and was very much needed during hot July.

There is almost nothing to say here. The only downside we can think of was that there was no view. But that is simply down to the nature of how the Old Town is built along very narrow streets, so the buildings are very closely packed and that the property is slightly set back from the street itself. It would be almost impossible to get a picturesque view in the old town unless situated along the seafront or in one of the squares in Diocletian's palace. And this is by no means a fault of Balatura themselves.

Place was fabulous, spotless clean, staff were so friendly & helpful, great value for money and so near the main centre. We would highly recommend and 100% would stay again.

I only had one it was the breakfast I love that is was an eco and no waste hotel however as we arrived late in night we had to order breakfast late. We were so hungry we ordered a fair amount. 2 of our party were vegetarian & ordered poached eggs on toast but it came with bacon on it ( wasn't specified on the menu about the bacon) The cook came out over to our table to ask why we hadn't eaten some of the food, which was grand because we gave the feedback however I nearly feel like we were bing scolded for not eating. Needless to same the next day we were very specific and precise of what we ordered.

The quality of construction, furnishing, and modern appliances and WiFi are very high. The hostess is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. The hostess is efficient, willing to accommodate reasonable requests, and helps guests start the day off right with a beautiful, high quality breakfast tailored to a breakfast order card delivered the night before.

A beautiful traditional hotel, which is just a short walk from the Old Town. The building has been renovated in such a sympathetic manner to ensure none of it’s charm has been lost. The staff excel when it comes to hospitality and kindness and do everything they can to pass on their love and knowledge of their city to ensure make the most of your stay.

Nothing to dislike

This is such a serene, tranquil hideaway. It’s a short walk to Split Old Town but it offers like a respite after the heat and the bustle of town. Everything in the rooms is thoughtfully designed to be soft and comfortable, the staff are always helpful and kind (even letting us check in early when we arrived exhausted from a long journey) and the breakfast is delicious.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Yosipa and Nika were so friendly, attentive and helped us with everything. The room matches the photos perfectly. It's small and quiet. And the breakfast! WOW! It was actually the best fruit salad I've ever eaten. My husband and I both got a meal tailored to us. It was perfect! Also, the location was really good. Down this little pedestrian street a few minutes walk from both old town and the harbor.

Really, there was nothing we didn't like. My husband wanted the room cold and I wish I'd noticed the blanket in the closet sooner.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Balatura in Split, and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. Firstly, the location was perfect - the property was surrounded by beautiful flowers and decorations, creating a very picturesque setting. My room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a large couch and a good sized desk to work on. The room also had a TV, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was spotless, very modern, and offered plenty of space to move around in. But what really set Balatura apart was the staff. They were insanely nice and went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed during my stay. Their warm and welcoming demeanor made me feel right at home. And lastly, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. There was a great variety of food to choose from, and everything was fresh and flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend Balatura for anyone looking for a wonderful and relaxing stay in Split. The combination of beautiful surroundings, spacious and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast make this property a true gem.
