I LOVE staying here. I have stayed here before and booked it again for this trip!! It is quiet, which is important in Tamarindo. The walk to the beach is easy and I would do it every morning. It's also easy to get to the stores, grocery and restaurants . I even walked home at night with no problems. This time I stayed in a new room which was LARGE, comfortable incredibly clean and very quiet. the other rooms are also quite large, fun outdoor showers and very clean. My favorite part of staying at La Ramona is it's small, but still private. And the owners treat you like family. There's breakfast every morning, which they make for you!! They have a guard at night and locked gate, even though it feels very safe in this area. They have also added little gym which is perfect to keep up a workout routine if you want to. The location really can't be beat and is really one of the best places for the money.

I LOVED staying here… my room was so comfortable and has exactly what I needed. It really was like staying with family you like. Maria took lovely care of my room and panel, the owner, made sure everything was perfect. They make breakfast for you in the morning and it’s good!! Fruit, juice, eggs, toast… just what you need before start your adventure for the day. My favorite was taking a shower outside… it was so refreshing a different.

That the new rooms aren't finished!! When panel is finished with his expansion the guests who are lucky enough to get one of his upstairs rooms will have an amazing view and experience!!!

The hotel owner and his staff were extremely friendly and helpful. On the last day, we needed to check out early, and they kindly prepared breakfast before the standard time. The room was a great size, very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large with a huge sink, which my friend and I loved. Breakfast was well-served with various options

The hotel is not so close to the beach, but it was not a big issue. The hotel is expanding, so the workers started working very early, and the noise was disturbing. I understand they could adjust the schedule because construction noise around 7/8 AM was really bothersome. The bed size could be larger considering there is plenty of space in the room.

We stayed here for 15 days in the room with the outdoor shower and bathtub. It was very unique and romantic. The room has a king sized bed which is very comfortable. I highly recommend walking to the beach (10 minutes) as parking can be very tricky as it's all parallel. There are about 40 restaurants within a 15 minute walk which we greatly enjoyed. The breakfast was big and they would change it up if you asked. The owner Pablo was excellent. He did our laundry twice for no charge and aired up a tire on my rental car when it was low.

My only recommendation would be to put a set of plates and utensils in the room in case guests have leftovers they want to eat.

I had an amazing experience! The hotel is close to Tamarindo Beach, so it’s easy to walk there, and all restaurants, and shops are close too. And at same time it’s a further from all noisy night activities. Therefore, it was possible to sleep peacefully in silence. There is also a pool and some nice garden spaces to relax. The rooms have air conditioning, private bathrooms, and a little terrace where you can sit. It feels quiet and peaceful, which I liked. Outdoor bath is amazing! The owners are very helpful and can help with tours or activities if you want to explore more of the area. Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re looking for something elegant and close to the beach.

Everything was perfect!

Good breakfast, comfy bed, nice facilities, close to the center and stores but not on a main road. The owners were nice and seemed proud of their place and are even expanding.

The shower experience was not great due to the spray pattern being too spread. That's just a product of the shower head type. The bathroom was not air conditioned and the shower was open to the outside. It was kind of nice but also made it quite humid in there. The other thing that was a factor in our experience but not something the hotel can control, was the dirt roads. They were very dusty (in the dry season) and we tried to avoid walking on them. We took the car just to drive a few blocks to avoid walking in the dust. Probably wont be as bad during the wet season and there are dirt roads all over so it's hard to avoid it.

This hotel really is charming with a lot of attention paid to design, both outdoors and in! The rooms were modern, compact and lovely and well equipped and soundproof. There is a small refrigerator and coffee maker in the room plus great shower and comfortable bedroom with an effective air conditioner. The owner himself cooked breakfast with an assistant and it was consistently delicious -- filled us up for the whole day, served on a lovely outdoor patio. Guests can even use the hotel's outdoor microwave to heat their own tea or snacks. Staff cleaned the room every day which is nice in a beach area - you can't believe how much hidden sand one tracks in from the beach. Each room has a unique outdoor sitting area and the pool is small but perfect for cooling off after a hot Costa Rican day. There are many many restaurants and stores within walking distance. We did walk to the beach every day - it took 10 - 15 minutes depending on which area we went to. The owners were delightful and helpful. All of this for a price considerably lower than other area hotels. They are building some new units which is good news for anyone who wants a charming short term stay in Tamarindo.

The road out front is not well paved and it's uphill from the beach - but those are the nature of the town and geography - just a note to visitors (not the hotel's "fault")

Breakfast was great. Location was perfect. Far enough from the center of town so it’s very peaceful and quiet. And at the same time very close to the center. A perfect location.

The bathroom door doesn’t give enough privacy in the bathroom. Also it would have been nice to have some sort of separation between the twin bed and the beds across from the tv. Price ways it was a bit too expensive.

We really loved the hotel, it's vey close within walking distance to Tamarindo centre, shops and restaurants, it's a nice walk back after dinner. Breakfast is very good and staff very attentive.The premises are well maintained, clean, nice decorated, I loved the outdoor shower incorporated in the suite somehow that gives a more depth to the authentic Costa Rican style.i would really recommend this place if you are in the area.

We liked everything about the property and our stay. We were welcomed by the hosting family and were allowed to store our luggage as we arrived earlier than check-in. We love that the hotel is family-owned, and the rooms were spotless. The outdoor shower in our room was a nice surprise. Our patio featured a swinging chair which became a favourite spot for reading or catching up on emails. The property is not beachfront, but after a day at the beach or in the centre, we were happy to return to our quiet retreat located a short walk away from all the hustle and bustle.
