Aroma Tea House offers perfect hospitality in Guilin! The staff are friendly, patient, helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, bright and beautifully furnished with antiques and classic Chinese paintings and sculptures. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, and served in a room with nice views of the surrounding area. The location is perfect for walking to most of the favorite tourist sites, such as the sun and moon pagoda, Elephant hill, and the departure dock for Li River cruises.
Booking.com shows pictures of the two best rooms with a view of the lake. The two best rooms in this beautiful hotel-- on the third and fourth floor-- no longer have those views. The trees around the lake have grown too tall and blocked the views which were advertised. They are still very nice, comfortable and quality rooms-- just without the view. Second small complaint is that there are some music/singing performances which take place in the adjacent park, which is literally under your window. These can be quite loud, and lasted until about 10 pm on at least 2 nights of our 5 day visit.

Basically everything about the hotel was great. First of all, the reception speaks good English, which is an unusual about China. They are also very nice and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and really well designed. We loved the sitting tea area next to the window. A marvelous idea! Bathroom was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was truly delicious. The last but not least the location of the hotel is within walking distance from Guilinās main attraction and the wide series of great reastaurants
Basically all was great

This hotel is gorgeous! Stepping inside feels like one has time-traveled to a different era. Wood, stone, tile, carvings, paintings, and sculpture abound. The setting is elegant, serene with a warm and welcoming staff who are engaging and quick to accommodate the travelerās needs. Even though we arrived late, they arranged a tea tasting for us later that night, with Rose who taught us about the proper way to drink tea, and gave us wonderful information about the area. Before we arrived, we had communicated with the Aroma staff and they arranged a fabulous tour of the Longji Rice fields for us and even organized a very early breakfast with the cooking staff so that we eat before being embarking on the tour. We really appreciated the unique and traditional Chinese style and atmosphere of The Aroma Tea House. The room furnishings were exquisite and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the window seat tea bench - a perfect place to to start the day with a cup of tea. The breakfast featured both the famous Guilin rice noodles and also Western style choices in a rooftop salon. There are several outside patios, one with covered seating. The hotel offers laundry service - welcome benefit on a long trip. Another great asset is that The Aroma Tea House is right in the heart of Guilin, across from Ronghu Lake, walking distance to many sights. Guilin is a magical city. The climb to the top of the Karst hill at the Princeās Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers spill out along the walkways. We wished we had allowed more time in Guilin to enjoy the generous hospitality of The Aroma Tea House. We highly recommend this beautiful and unique hotel. One of a kind!

The interior is very pleasant and resort-like. Colour schemes are good. And this hotel has the most Chinese artifacts I have experienced. It even has a museum on the second floor but that is not opened to visitors: the owners personal collections. Location is great...the views from the room of the lake with the lit bridges at night is good. The staffs are extremely polite and helpful. Put it this way: it is great value for money.
The only thing is the shower joints of the tiles could do with some good mould-away scrubbing...but then that is because my other half is a super clean person.

The hotel is very well located on the lakeside and very close to the city center. The accommodation is authentic with a lot of beautiful pieces of art in the corridors and lobby. The staff is very helpful and always available (helped on finding medicine for an allergy and also ordered the taxis for the airport at a very good price). Breakfast is fine. We also had a foot massage for a very good price at the hotel with very nice ladies.
The rooms were a bit cold on the first floor as the building is made of stone and we had issues with the heating. We asked the lady and she helped turning on the heat.

This is a handsome hotel right by the lake, surrounded by magnificent trees. The staff are very hospitable and efficient. All the art - paintings and sculptures - give the hotel added grace and charm. The restaurant has a beautiful view. The bedrooms are large and comfortable.
Breakfast was good. It would be really helpful if you could choose freshly made eggs. A picture breakfast menu would ease communications. When we asked, we did get fresh eggs but sometimes it seemed it would be better if we ate the ones already cooked which were no longer runny. And although coffee is provided, a machine giving a range of coffees would be a great investment.

A spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated hotel, featuring lots of antiques from its former life as a museum. It's located right beside the lake with a well-it walking path that runs all the way around and give easy access to the night market and Pagodas'.Theres also wonderful, spontaneous, entertainment provided by the locals which goes on around the lake each night.utterly charming! The staff are simply outstanding, and all speak good English. I emailed ahead of our arrival and they organised onward travel via boat to Yangshou and additional transfers back to Guilin and on to the Longji Rice Terraces - all super efficient and well priced. I saw some comments about the lack of western-style breakfast foods, but this was not our experience. There were cereals, fruit, eggs, toast, yoghurts and pastries in addition to local options. We loved our stay here and would absolutely recommend this hotel.

The staff is amazing. When we arrived they were so enthusiastic that it kind of broke our heart to tell them we were only staying in Guilin for one night. They helped us with lift to the Li river cruise the next morning and were a fount of information when we needed it. The rooms are nicely decorated and come with a basic gongfu tea set and some tea. The location is good. Walking distance from Guilin centre but far away enough for the noise not to be a hindrance. If we ever find ourselves going to Guilin again we'd stay here again.
Nitpicks. The building is a tad older (it's a refurbished museum) so you're not allowed to flush your TP. This is apparently the case in most of Guilin though.

Location was across from lovely lake and walkways. The hotel was an old museum so the decorations and furnishings are incredibly beautiful and unique. Every corner you look you see gorgeous antique pieces. The buffet breakfast was great and a nice selection of the typical foods for China. Staff were super friendly and spoke a little English to get me by. Beds were comfy and room super clean. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I didn't find a good selection of restaurants and had to eat in the hotel most of the time. I'm a vegetarian and found that most Chinese foods are cooked in pork oil and greasy oily drippings cover every bite. So the food was not easy. Menus are hard to read and the translation apps don't translate properly so locals have no idea what you are trying to say.

Located near main Guilin attractions on Rong Lake with historical artifacts and traditional tea leaving you feeling immersed in Chinese culture! Room was spacious and clean with gorgeous picture window overlooking the lake. A variety of options for breakfast included a taste of traditional Guilin rice noodles! Staff were so kind and helpful with suggested activities and bookings. Fantastic home base for day trips to surrounding attractions like Longji rice terraces and Li River cruise!
Small boutique hotel that filled up fast so book early to get the room that you want!
