Aroma Tea House offers perfect hospitality in Guilin! The staff are friendly, patient, helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, bright and beautifully furnished with antiques and classic Chinese paintings and sculptures. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, and served in a room with nice views of the surrounding area. The location is perfect for walking to most of the favorite tourist sites, such as the sun and moon pagoda, Elephant hill, and the departure dock for Li River cruises.
Booking.com shows pictures of the two best rooms with a view of the lake. The two best rooms in this beautiful hotel-- on the third and fourth floor-- no longer have those views. The trees around the lake have grown too tall and blocked the views which were advertised. They are still very nice, comfortable and quality rooms-- just without the view. Second small complaint is that there are some music/singing performances which take place in the adjacent park, which is literally under your window. These can be quite loud, and lasted until about 10 pm on at least 2 nights of our 5 day visit.

Basically everything about the hotel was great. First of all, the reception speaks good English, which is an unusual about China. They are also very nice and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and really well designed. We loved the sitting tea area next to the window. A marvelous idea! Bathroom was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was truly delicious. The last but not least the location of the hotel is within walking distance from Guilin’s main attraction and the wide series of great reastaurants
Basically all was great

The hotel arranged tours and pickup services from the train station (albeit at a slightly higher price for services) which I was OK to pay for the convenience and reliability since the hotel would make sure that the driver turned up, helped to get the tickets etc! Staff could speak English and helpful with giving directions (even gave a map and showed where the spots were) and communication was with WeChat and Booking.com messaging. Location was good just across the road to the lake and within walking distance to major tourist attractions in Guilin ie the Sun & Moon pagodas and the Elephant Hill etc. Breakfast was OK and had both chinese and western cuisine (albeit limited). Its a boutique Hotel and the interior was interesting with chinese "ärtefacts". Nice stay

The rooms are spacious, luxurious and comfortable. My room was also fitted with a nice tea room with mountain views! The staff is extremely professional and kind, and ready to help you with any requests you might have, as well as proactively assist you in planning your excursions or activities. The breakfast is also good, with a variety of Chinese and international food and drinks. Conveniently located in the heart of Guilin, within 10-15 mins walk to the Elephant trunk Hill and all other Guilin's major attractions. One of the best hotel stays in my life! I will book again if I get to visit Guilin in the future
Everything exceeded my expectations!

This hotel is gorgeous! Stepping inside feels like one has time-traveled to a different era. Wood, stone, tile, carvings, paintings, and sculpture abound. The setting is elegant, serene with a warm and welcoming staff who are engaging and quick to accommodate the traveler’s needs. Even though we arrived late, they arranged a tea tasting for us later that night, with Rose who taught us about the proper way to drink tea, and gave us wonderful information about the area. Before we arrived, we had communicated with the Aroma staff and they arranged a fabulous tour of the Longji Rice fields for us and even organized a very early breakfast with the cooking staff so that we eat before being embarking on the tour. We really appreciated the unique and traditional Chinese style and atmosphere of The Aroma Tea House. The room furnishings were exquisite and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the window seat tea bench - a perfect place to to start the day with a cup of tea. The breakfast featured both the famous Guilin rice noodles and also Western style choices in a rooftop salon. There are several outside patios, one with covered seating. The hotel offers laundry service - welcome benefit on a long trip. Another great asset is that The Aroma Tea House is right in the heart of Guilin, across from Ronghu Lake, walking distance to many sights. Guilin is a magical city. The climb to the top of the Karst hill at the Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers spill out along the walkways. We wished we had allowed more time in Guilin to enjoy the generous hospitality of The Aroma Tea House. We highly recommend this beautiful and unique hotel. One of a kind!

Aroma Tea House is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It has a pretty inner court garden and the hallways are decorated with tasteful artwork. The Front Desk staff (Rose, Judy, Ida) speak very good English and were extraordinarily helpful answering questions and organizing transportation to the Longji Terrace Rice Fields and Yangshuo. These three staff members deserve high praise for their patience and dedication to delivering exceptional customer service. I did not realize how difficult it is to get around in Guilin because there is no metro and the bus stops are only in mandarin. Didi (Uber) is not always available making it difficult to plan a day’s excursion. Breakfast was also delightful with a nice variety of dishes. The two breakfast ladies were efficient and always had a smile when they greeted me in the morning. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping my room clean and restocked with clean towels and water. The entire hotel is neat and clean.
There is nothing negative to say about this charming hotel.

Location is fantastic, alongside the parc and many restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel itself is super clean. It's also nice to walk around in the hotel itself since there is a lot of antique/art to see. Staff speaks English very well, which makes it easy to communicate. And if you have the time, book a massage, it will totally loosen up your body.
One minor improvement point is breakfast, because when you arrive a bit late (let's say 8.45 am), breakfast options are a bit meager, as if you are eating left-overs. Advise to the hotel is to replenish more frequently, not after people just sat down with the left-overs.

I couldn’t choose better! Hotel is located in quiet but central area, just next to the lake. Breakfast room with the view made a good start of the day. Many food options nearby. Every space and room is full of marvelous drawings, paintings and other pieces of art. The atmosphere is unique and yet very cozy. The hotel staff is beyond expectations! They speak good English. Our contact before arrival was smooth and professional, they responded immediately. I asked for help in organizing day trips to Rice Terraces and to Yangshuo and it was done perfectly. For a very good price I had two private tours with very polite and extremely skillful driver. I would never see so much without him. I also strongly recommend booking train station transfer if you arrive to Guilinxi - it is far away and having transport waiting for us in the pouring rain was a life saver. We felt very well taken care of and definitely recommend this place to everyone!!!!!

A lovely stay in Guilin we would recommend to everyone. Extremely helpful staff who provided maps, recommendations and advice. Lovely views from the hotel, close to the river and easy to get around town. Staff helped us organise transfers to the airport and were very friendly. Thank you!
Unfortunately we witnessed other guests (two older ladies) stealing significant amounts of food from breakfast and putting it in their bags for lunch, like 9 pieces of toast, boiled eggs etc. This left less for other guests. We understand this is not the hotels fault, they even had signs stating not to do this so it must occur regularly.
