Good breakfast, great location, between two strategic metro stations, nice room with large opening windows. 7-Eleven just out of the side entry to the hotel. Plus bonus: Free laundry facilities for the guests on site!! Clean room, very well lit and aired.

This hotel is very good, yet not all the rooms are the same. When we arrived we were allocated a dark, almost windowless room with a strange smell, despite what was explicitly booked. The reception responded professionally to my remark on the matter, and quite quickly found us a room which was more in accordance with what was booked. After this short, but unpleasant opening episode, the whole stay was 10/10.

Perfect location on Shamian island which is one of must visit place itself. 10 min walk to Shangxiajiu pedestrian street for shopping, 15-20 min walk to Old Town and Moon Bridge. Riverside just 5 min with restaurants. The hotel itself was colonial style, nice and decent, smelled for candy. The bed was comfy, service was great and proactive. The hotel solved quickly the issue with barking dog next room! I like the small feature in the room- going to toilet during a night the small ambient light was automatically turned near floor, nice.

The wifi was very poor. Wasnt possible to watch even tv due to poor connection. The room was set to 21C and for us it was a bit too cold. Was not possible to raise temperature.

Beautifully renovated historic hotel right on Shamian Island, there's even a little museum with old artifacts and photos of the place. The room i stayed in was comfortable and atmospheric. The rooftop pool is kinda fun, given the views, though not especially large and no towels that i could see. No worries though, I'll gladly recommend this place, and give a big thanks to the very helpful staff at reception, who helped me make train bookings and other things.

Location is very convenient, close to the city centre, and relatively quiet for a busy city. Staff are friendly and helpful. The building has an interesting character. Nice surroundings.

I can hear traffic from my room during night even though it is not right next to a busy road, maybe the sound proof is not great. one day I was woken up by someone next door watching TV at early morning. Maybe because I am not used to noise during night.

Buffet breakfast is available for 79 yuan (after 10 per cent discount for guests). There is a nice heritage museum in the hotel that details its history. Great location to explore Shamian Island and Shisanhang Museum. It is near Xidi Wharf where I took a 50-minute long cruise along the Pearl River. Close to both Huangsha and Cultural Park subway stations.

Based on the photos, I thought we would be at an old fashioned hotel. However, the deluxe room was so well designed and updated in a very nice Chinese style, as were the hallways leading to the various rooms. I appreciated that the air conditioning was also very powerful, which helped during the hot weather.

Wish it were slightly closer to the train station!

Very nice location in a historical place. Its interesting to walk around in a very unusual surroundings for so big and crowded city as Guangzhou. Really homely feeling:) The shopping mall with many good restaurants is just in 10-15min walk away. Looks as the hotel is renovated recently, nicely renovated! Good breakfast.

The staff could be a bit better with English.

location of the hotel is very convenient and beautiful as well, surrounded with interesting buildings and the riverside areas are good for a walk.

The breakfast was okay, could have more options for international guests, limited items and not offering fresh juices. WiFi network quality is poor. international cuisines restaurant is not open in the evening and only Chinese food restaurant available.

Cozy and clean room, very quiet. Good breakfast, well served as well. Awesome location, reasonable price. 10 mins walk max from the nearby subway station. Wifi was fine as well.

The staff spoke English poorly, but they really really tried to do their best. Dirty black tea kettle in the dining room.
