Quiet, clean, large room, excellent location (although we did not have a canal view and looked over roofs of buildings). Easy check-in. Prompt answering of question re: parking via text. Able to sit out along the canal with a beverage at the end of the day. Kitchen well stocked and single coffee maker made good coffee.

Challenging if not impossible for anyone who has mobility issues. This downside ought to be on the website...twenty steep stairs although solid banister and great motion lighting. Would have liked to switch off the ac and open windows but one window would not budge, another window screen was ripped, the third window did not have screen and the fourth window was blocked by air conditioner.

It’s one of a kind. The room we stayed in, Room 1, has the original pressed tin detailing on the 12 foot high ceiling. It’s so spacious, and includes a basic kitchen which would be nice on longer stays. You have an amazing view of shipping traffic on the canal, and can even partially see the Clarence Street bridge raise and lower from bed! The decor is a cozy mix of modern and vintage. The owner, Greg, is … gregarious! He and his staff are friendly and laid back. There’s no “room service” but the restaurant below is so convenient. It’s a very relaxed vibe - there’s no hotel lobby or concierge, it’s all handled through the restaurant. The area has the quiet of a small town but there’s tons of amenities in easy walking distance, like a drugstore and grocery store. Plus other restaurants, cafes, cute shops. And a fishery just down the street with daily fresh catch!

Room 1 is directly above the restaurant, so you will hear it if they have an event going on. It’s not every weekend and they don’t tend to go very late.

You can’t find a better location in the heart of the Port Colborne canal district. We appreciated the ground level accommodation with parking right outside our door and a cute little private patio with 4 chairs. The unit is spacious, decorated lovely and is well stocked with cooking utensils. We will definitely stay there again.

This place was amazing old and lovely we had 3 bedroom apartment with deck for the smokers the beds and pillows were so comfortable I slept very very good the owner Greg is such a nice man and all the staff were amazing and the food at their restaurant was top notch and reasonably priced will definitely be going back

The location was in the perfect area for us. The people who helped with check in and our 1 small issue were very kind, and helped us quickly.

We loved the property. It was perfect for our stay. The only thing people need to know, is that the apartment is at the top of a steep set of stairs.

I had no idea of where to go to get my key, and thank goodness, someone at the restaurant gave me the keys…it would have been good to have been told where to find the keys.

The rooms were huge! The proximity to downtown and the canal, with rooms facing the canal were fantastic!

Parking in the back was confusing on arrival. Entry to the hotel was also confusing. Because the bar and wait staff helped us they were very busy when we arrived. The AC did not work well in any room in our group (we had 4 rooms). Confusing. There was a learning curve to use the digital locks.

We totally fell in love with the area, and Canalside was fantastic. Greg was entertaining and extremely helpful. His staff were great and very knowledgeable about the area. Rooms were clean spacious and well stocked. This is a very great value for the money hands down. Safe to walk and loads of restaurants but the Canalside was our favorite.

Pleasant chap sorted me out on arrival, providing a sheet re parking, etc. It was a true room with a view, overlooking the Welland Canal. You could access the venue from the back or front. The room was of ample size and clean.

Would have appreciated higher end java options.

The location was central right by the canal, and it was great for a one night/weekend stay. The unit was spacious, which we loved. The kitchen had a microwave and a single electric stove, so great for dining there. The shower is surprisingly decent.

While the bed was comfortable, the bed sheets had an extremely strong detergent smell, which didn't et us sleep. The cleaning crew is using way too much detergent and not rinsing it out thoroughly.
