Very calm place, great restaurant and nice staff. Helped us with booking tours around the island and volcano. There are a lot more/bigger plants and trees than in the pictures here, which made the whole area even better. You are surrounded by the sounds of nature and can really kick back and relax by the pool or in the restaurant.

Due to the closeness to nature there were lots of mosquitoes, so bring some repellents! We also wished there had been some sort of table to sit at in front of the bungalow and bigger bins inside the bungalow.

We had a lovely stay, the ecolodge is beautifully situated in nature. While you have the privacy of your own little cabin, you can socialize with other guests at dinner or during the day in the restaurant area. The pool was nice and quiet. The food was delicious! You can tell they try not to waste any food and are mindful of energy and water use. The staff was really helpful.

Something they can't help: the spiders! Apparently November is prime spider season in Cape Verde, and I'm not a fan! Also, while my partner really liked the soft beds, for my pregnant self it was hard to turn in them and less comfortable. But that didn't take away from a lovely stay!

Absolutely beautiful place with great views, very friendly staff and good food. They also helped us organizing transfers and tours (once around the island and once the hike of Pico do Fogo).

Only two minor things that we were already aware from other reviews and that were no problem for us: 1. Showers can be rather cold depending on the time of the day (if you shower in the afternoon/evening, there is plenty of hot water). 2. At the same time, it can be quite hot in the evening and as the rooms don‘t have AC, it takes some time to cool down (and you should not be afraid of insects ;-) ).

After a long tour of Cabo Verde, it good to relax in the high of Fogo. Swimming pool, nice campaign around. Very peace full. Very comfortable bed. Nice and cool place. Efficient team. Thank u every body.

Perhaps propose a washing clothing prestation.

Excellent lodge in a great setting. Food was also great ! The room was small but functional, and we didn't have any problem. Wifi was excellent.

Since it's an evolodge, there were a lot of bugs, which I didn't mind, but one of my kids didn't appreciate.

Great place to sip cocktails by the pool. A great place to stay after hiking the volcano and just doing nothing. Staff were friendly and helpful.

It's somewhere you will end up just staying at the resort the whole time but that's what I wanted. They organize taxis and tours to things if you want to get out.

The view from the restaurant patio is stunning! The lodge is located up in the hills in a green, quiet village. Rooms are simple but clean and have all essentials. They are really eco-friendly and very well integrated in the village to ensure a short fresh food chain. The buffet breakfast and dinner was very nice. A bit more variety would be welcome but this is probably also linked to our longer stay. Aaron and his wife are super friendly, very flexible and helped us organize nice trips around the island.

A mosquito net over the bed or mosquito gauze in windows/doors would have been helpful as the ECO aspect requires to cool the rooms during the night with open windows/doors.

Cool location. Very natural surroundings. Dinner was delicious and fairly priced. Breakfast very good too. Enjoyable place to relax as there is not much nearby.

The entire pool/deck area needs a renovation. Wood is splintering and paint peeling. Not very nice area for a swim.

Everything! Located about 600 meters above sea level overlooking Sao Filipe and Fogo’s west coast the property is set in beautiful, green scenery with amazing views. Fantastic common area with outdoor lounge and bar, with own deck and pool too, and serving lovely dishes and drinks all day. A perfect place to unwind after hiking in and around this amazing island, and a super base for venturing up to Cha de Caldeiras and scaling Pico de Fogo. Our hosts Ellen and Aaron were fantastically helpful in every way possible in arranging excursions and helpful tips. The dinners were superb, with super vegetarian and vegan options too based on local and ecological produce.

Absolutely nothing - our biggest regret was not staying longer at this fabulous location and island 🏝

La Fora was amazing - such an excellent set up in a beautiful location. The lodges were great and the bar/restaurant and pool areas were ideal for relaxing too (with the most beautiful sunset views!) Aaron pre-arranged a brilliant guide for the Pico de Fogo hike for me as well, which was also excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Fogo.
