From the moment we got to reception we were taken be the welcome of the owner. So often receptions seem to treat their patrons as suspicious thieves and vandals (we’re in our 70’s for goodness sake!!) This lady was different, offering real milk (choice of size) and ice-cold water and giving us a room that had been cooling (REALLY hot day). The i ing on the cake was when we asked if she knew of a garage that might be able tondo a minor fix on a flapping piece of plastic under the car that had caused an awful noise for almost 1000 kms (weekend + public holiday aaaargh). She was brilliantly helpful and we got it fixed early next morning.

Slightly odd room configuration but no bother.

The room was updated with a beautiful comfortable bed and decor. The towels were fluffy and lovely bed linen. Even 3ply toilet paper in the bathrooms. The finishing touches was lovely presenting the soaps on a washer in the shape of a flower. We travelled as two couples and the Manager was most apologetic that she was unable to upgrade both couples. The smaller room was well appointed but small. The upgraded room was very large with two queen beds and a dining setting for 4.

The only negative was the smaller room had rising damp on one of the walls but it was still very comfortable and had a nice smell to the room. Parking was a bit tight if you had a high 4WD in some places.

The Border Motel has a beautiful decorated room. A gorgeous comfortable blue chair and was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom modern, light and lots of soaps, body wash, hair products, etc. Reasonably small size but very usable with most things I wanted.

The kettle was unusable as it had a build up of something inside (probably lime from the water) but though I washed inside it multiple times, it still had floaties which I didn’t want in a cup of tea. The parking is good (right outside my door) but by dark there were so many cars behind mine, I couldn’t get out. Some had moved by the time I wanted to leave, but I still had difficulties reversing out.

Loved the lady on checkin and the beautiful smell when we walked in. The rooms were lovely and clean and the location was excellent. Best place to stay close to the best pub in town in our opinion

Didn't like that the early morning cleaning staff sat outside our rooms smoking and drinking coffee and on their phones in our space that we would have liked to enjoy a cuppa outside our rooms. Not only were they taking our outdoor table and chairs they were blowing smoke everywhere and we had our doors open and had to put up with that and couldn't use our own outside space

The owner/manager was very welcoming, friendly and generous. eg offered us as much milk and water as we would like (rare we found out!!) The room was tastefully decorated and extremely clean and comfortable. The mattress and bed linen was all good quality which we appreciate. Helpful with suggestions on where to dine. The owners froze our ice bricks for our travel cooler - so kind to do the little extras.

I know space costs, but the room just felt a bit too small for 2 people with a few items of luggage. Would have loved a Queen bed, but it would not have fitted in that room.

We were aware that there are no breakfast options, but the cafe next door does not open until 7am. Macdonald's is about 1km down the road. There was a smell in the bathroom that we put down to the room too close to a septic tank, the smell did not go into the main room.

The room had an interior design feel with a perfectly made up bed and stylish cushions. Topped off with a plush velvet armchair It was very clean and comfortable and clearly a fan favourite as the motel was booked. The towels are large and fluffy. The best thing too about checking in is the friendly welcome along with the fridge with water and milk. Take as many bottles as you like!

The pillows were too hard but that’s a personal thing. Also the hair dryer is one of those attached to the wall.

Everything was delightful. Staff were attentive and friendly. Complimentary goodies in the room as well as REAL milk for tea a rare treat. The room in this older type of motel building had a modern and attractive facelift. I had EVERYTHING you could need after a long drive

Everything was great. Nothing I didnt like. I've stayed in a few places on my way from Melb to Brisbane - more and less expensive - this by far the best

Tara was very friendly and caring of our needs 😊 The free upgrade of the room was a huge bonus and much appreciated 😊 The beds were very comfortable, the size of the room was appreciated and the complimentary water and milk was a very nice touch!

The noise of other guests moving around or leaving at 6.30 am woke me up and after driving for 11.5 hours straight the day before, I was really hoping for a longer sleep.
